I already did quote it. It's the quote in the post you just quoted from.

Now we're all getting confused. I was the one that coined the "BJGE Fanatics" phrase. Not DaBruinz. I'm actually trying to get it copywritten right now.

Deus, I have always preferred "We Are the World".

As someone in the middle of the whole Maroney-BJGE thing and one of the more level-headed posters, I must say both sides have been a bit irrational at times. But hey not everyone can be like me.

Keep talking that trash against BJGE. "There will be no reps for him". We'll see. Every time he gets a rep this season, I'll post just to let you know.

I'm sure you will. People like you get so few things right in life that whenever you do get something correct you've got to sit and gloat and pat yourself on the back every single chance you get.

You, there is a saying that applies to people like you..
"Even a blind squirrel finds a nut in the forest on occasion."

BJGE is the 5th RB on the roster currently. Be honest with yourself. How many games, in BB's entire tenure, has he carried 5 Backs (RB/FB) on a Game Day Roster. If its more than 1, I'll be surprised.

I never said I didn't like him. I just don't believe he's all that the way many people on here would have you believe.

In fact, you won't be able to find a post where I have said I hate BJGE and that his being on the team hurts the team.

I didn't say you hated him- I said you didn't like him, based on the post where you called him a horrible blocker and accused BJGE fans of making up lies to justify his spot on the roster (post #386)

I think "Benny" will be in on a couple of 4 active RB games early on and his PT to come will be based on those. Likely Slater and Morris won't be around for a few games, and that might be when we get the final assessment on this player.

I hope people in your stance will give him a fair shot to show an upward trend, much like I'd imagine you'd hope for from your employer.

If he blows it, fine. Drop him and use his spot when Morris is healthy again (for five games).

That works

Anyways, Lamp, just from my perspective, I've not had an issue with you on the whole Maroney thing.. So, carry on the good fight..

Oh did someone just eat crow?

I prefer "Even a broken clock is right twice a day". That one really rams it in the you know what

Ok.. I can see how that could be construed the way you took it..
BTW, for me, to hate or not like someone I'd have to know them personally..

Just because I think he's a horrible blocker and that he isn't all that, doesn't mean I don't like him. I just don't buy all the BS people are trying to sell on him. Its nothing against the kid personally.

No. Why should anyone have eaten crow??? I was asking Lamp for clarification on what he posted.. So I could follow it more easily..

Fair enough, that's a solid distinction. I'm in pretty much the same boat, but was using like differently. I like BJGE as a player (JAG, maybe a little better, he's a north-south runner who can pass-block a little), but don't like him relative to, say, Ryan O'Callaghan or a backup QB in terms of what he brings to the team. Belichick seems to disagree with me though, so I'm going to go out on a limb and say apparently I'm wrong on this one.

I did NOT see a CB BLITZ on the first sack is what I'm saying, but I missed the 2nd sack, so I am guessing that one was a CB BLITZ and that BJGE must have pulled an Alex Smith and stood there with his pants down, the way you're talking about him.

The first sack by the Giants came on the 2nd play of the 1st series by the Pats.

NFL Game Center: New York Giants at New England Patriots - 2009 Preseason Week 4

You're not doing yourself any favors by not actually following the game... DVR or PBP.

Good rule of thumb. If its about football and BB disagrees with me, I can be sure I am wrong

We're all potentially wrong, and rightfully so because we are many degrees removed from the actual scene (i.e., knowing the players personally)- but it's still fun to debate and discuss. I learn much this way.

As someone pointed out earlier in the thread, BB was all glowing about CJack last year.. And People were crowing and hooting and hollering about CJack making the team.. only to be stunned last year when he was cut the next day.. Many of those same people who were hooting and hollering about CJack being cut are the same ones who are now crowing about BJGE making the team.

So, until BJGE sees meaningful snaps in a game, be it on special teams or otherwise, he's at the bottom of the roster and could be cut any day. In fact, BB could be waiting to cut him until other teams have things sorted out so that BJGE will be on the shadow roster. Also, as mentioned, he could just be here until Morris proves healthy, though I doubt the Pats go into a game with more than 3 RBs active.. But, only time will tell.

I don't think that there is going to be a person in here who is going to root against BJGE. Actually, the only person I've seen that looks to be rooting against a player on a team is Afterlifemobile-86, and he's actively rooting against Maroney. While I think that BJGE is the fifth best RB on the roster (behind Maroney, Taylor, Faulk, and Morris), I certainly won't root against him if he sees playing time. I'll be more than happy to give him a fair shot, just like I did last season when he saw a little playing time.

My major problem with him stems from the people who, again, seem to think he's the second coming of Barry Sanders.

Intersting point. Are the Chad Jackson haters and the BJGE supporters the same people?
My instinct is yes, but I dont know why, or even if its right.
Anyone have thoughts on this?
Is it the BB cant draft crowd grabing onto the undrafted guys to support their pov?
Is it a case on distaste for high draft picks and love of undrafted guys?
Is it just a coincidence?

Could a mod be kind enough to just LOCK this thread so we don't have to worry about it anymore.....

If I had to take a stab at why, I'd say that it's people who tend to form their opinions of players based on a highly instinctive, emotional sense of playing the game 'the right way' and 'the wrong way'. Please don't take that as an insult, I'm not trying to use that as a slam or anything, although I admit that my approach couldn't be much further from it, so I don't really understand where you guys are coming from when you take it.

Anyways, among those types of people, who talk frequently in terms of guys having grit, or fire in their belly, etc. etc., it seems like BJGE has developed a very loyal following, as someone who plays the game the right way and has all of the drive in the world, whereas CJack, Maroney, and Watson earned the scorn of that crowd because they're perceived to be lazy/passive players without the eye of the tiger or whatever.

Maybe I'm just reading into it too much, and the same people just disappointed and a little mad when an extremely athletic first/second round pick doesn't pan out quite as hoped.

Could be totally off, I dunno, but I wouldn't be at all surprised to find that there's a distinct inverse correlation between how you feel about BJGE and Ventrone vs. how you feel about Watson and Maroney.
