Weird - all these leaks make Belichick look bad, or at least that was the intent of the leaks. Leading up to now, I guess, if you listened to the media, they were saying that the book is bad for Brady. Hence, the Tom Sr and Guerrero offensive of the last week or so as a preemptive strike. I won't read it, I'm too busy and lazy as I approach the half century mark...

You’ve never said something you didn’t mean before because you were considering something else coming down the pike? I get it. You don’t like to blast Bill for this. But even a not dialed in Butler is light years better than Johnson Bademosi.
That's not debatable. When healthy, rested and prepared of course MB is better than ****bag Badmosi and crapass Jordan Richards.

On that day Bill didn't think so and the only evidence we have as to why he didn't play is what Malcolm said himself and DMC and Rowe confirming he was running with the 3rd string.

They are saving the deflategate stuff. These guys have PR people helping with the leaks I'm sure and that stuff will gather the most attention. Look for one more quote or 2 to be released during the game.

Belichick and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell had a much closer relationship than previously known and once met secretly in a New England airplane hangar to discuss rule changes — even as aides unsuccessfully pleaded with Goodell to drop the Deflategate inquiry, worried about the long-term damage to the league brand.

LOL yes it had to be a "secret meeting". No embellishment from Wickersham at all. Nah.

Yea, no.

You've been all in hook, line, & sinker to their BS line. There was always a reason for why they were so mysterious and not forth coming about the reasons. They lied to us to cover their arrogance. I knew when the truth came out it would make them look like total incompetents. That's why they lied about the reason because there was no justifying it.
What is the truth then?

What we know is.....

Malcolm had the flu
He arrived late to Minny
Fat Matt demoted him to 3rd string.
Malcolm said he still wasn't feeling well
DMC and Rowe confirmed he was demoted 2 years ago
Malcolm admits he wasn't prepared.

That is the truth i'm going on. I don't see why my belief is so unreasonable. It's held water for 4 ****ing years.

I am partially stunned

Butler's "those m-fers" quote tells me it was a punishment for sure.

The reality: privately team-owned stadiums are the key to elevated valuation vs peers.
And the bigger the stadium, the greater the valuation.
Jerry Jones and Daniel Snyder would agree.
Bob made a wise decision back in the mid 90's (except for leaving a wide open gap in one of his end zones)
Thats a good point.

It's a worthy exercise to look at teams and their valuation increase % and how it compares/contrasts vs private/public funding.

Interesting...Skip Bayless theorized that Bill was trying to get rid of Brady by benching Butler. Well, I guess it worked...
Bill threw the Super Bowl on purpose to piss off Brady. That makes a freakin chit of sense.

I don't doubt that 1) Brady was pissed they lost, like everyone else. 2) Brady had enough of Bill and his unbending ways. To suggest that Bill threw the Super Bowl on purpose is asinine. Bayless should go into concussion testing.

Maybe. Also could be based on frustration, perceived entitlements and pissed it may impact his FA market.

I can't believe this crap isn't getting back to the locker room. It already looked like this team lacked leadership. One of the main benefits, aside from winning, of having Brady on the roster was his ability to galvanize the locker room.

W/o Brady, Bill has lost the "guy" that gave him both wins and allowed him to get away with the crap he pulled in the past.

If Pats get walloped on SNF, he may lose this fan base. His pedantic disposition won't come across well when: 1) you can't win, and 2) you're perceived as a lying, arrogant azzhole.

Yes. He almost lost the locker room over his letter of support to Trump when he was running.
In 2016, after then-presidential candidate Donald Trump read a letter of support from Belichick at a campaign rally, Patriots assistant coach Brian Flores told Belichick that several players were angry and that he “needed to say something” to the team. Belichick addressed the team, but it didn’t help initially. Many players felt he was being disingenuous. “It was hypocritical and out of character,” a Patriots player recalled. “I don’t think he’s an intolerant coach. He isn’t a bad guy. Bill just f—ed up and justified it in a way that he would never accept from a player.” After the meeting, a small group of Patriots players considered boycotting practice but then reconsidered.

It's up there with the, "Bill threw the SB b/c Bob make him trade Jimmy and this was his way of getting even" theory.

Sure but now you have more information. You're smart enough to take that into account:

Malcolm had the flu
He arrived late to Minny
Fat Matt demoted him to 3rd string (because he fought w/ MB)
Malcolm said he still wasn't feeling well
DMC and Rowe confirmed he was demoted 2 years ago
Malcolm admits he wasn't prepared. (because he was trying to get a job and didn't want to piss off Bill - see above)

One thing I think we learned. Brady was the ultimate buffer between Bill and the team. The struggles we are seeing now might be guys just not buying in to the same level because Bill's personal skills are terrible.

Sorry but I'm not ready to believe EVERYTHING Wick writes but I will believe what DMC, Rowe and MB have said.

If it did become Brady and Patriots coach O'Brien - do they win a ring? Pretty obvious that the answer is likely yes they do.

WTF?

I remember during the sb51 trophy ceremony, it might have been Brady giving his mvp speech and in the back you can see bb and Goodell having a lengthy conversation, the expressions they had kinda indicated it was beyond the standard congrats and they were pretty good friends.

edit: it was while kraft was speaking to the fans
