Jim Trotter, analyzing the Chiefs' options with the third overall pick:
How can a guy who gets paid to do this get it so wrong? The last thing you do with that pick is take chances. That's what the Lions do. The Chiefs will take a nice, safe player at 3, just like the Dolphins did last year at number 1. The chances of the guy flaming out are just too high.
I know these "analysts" are in bed with agents, and that is probably driving a lot of this article, but he ignores so much. Seymour was well regarded, but a lot of people had him in the middle to lower half of the first round of the draft when he came out. BB was perceived to have reached for him
Should that Chiefs take Jackson at 3? It's either him, Raji, or an OT as far as I see it. But Trotter identifies need at WR and LB, as well as both lines. There's no way I'd draft those positions over a good lineman if I'm Pioli.

For the money the Chiefs will be paying, they should be bold rather than safe. The third pick overall should be an impact player, not a role player.
