It's easy, and only takes a few moments. Will he be playing the role with a giant mirror that makes him look like Losman despite throwing lefthanded? Will they put him on roller skates to make a non-elusive player appear as mobile as Losman?I was thinking the same thing. Today playing the role of J.P. Losman will be....
Last I saw, David Greene was exonerated from cheating on a test, despite Matt Damon's best attempt to smear him because he is Jewish. But he was a great quarterback... did he get into Harvard?
(Is this reference too obscure?)
My guess is that they just want to try him out, see how he looks, due diligence, etc... Hope Oldenburg will be re-signed later on. Too bad for him.
I really think Cassel's days are numbered here. He is not really flashing that sign of improvement like Brady did, and the Pats probably are coming up with a plan B.
Whether Greene ends up being part of plan B or not, he is clearly getting a look.
Either that or BB is so pleased with Gutierrez he is planning to feature Cassel in some potential blow outs and given the way the Schaub trade has worked out he figures he can recoup close to that end of the first he recently lost by flipping Cassel. QB's who can just reasonably function are at a premium these days in case nobody has noticed... Possible, a 20% probability
Or he just wanted another arm on the PS where there has been none for some time now.
Who knows maybe Brady was taking HGH... I suspect that they won't have 4 QBs on the roster for long, maybe Guit.'s days are numbered.
Leaving out veteran acquisitions the 2007 draft has reaped very little fruit... but we did get Randy Moss.
Did Greene play at all with the Bills? Something tells me they may not be happy with Cassell. Even though it doesn't mean much, Gutuierrez is the one who took the kneel downs in the first two games. Maybe they feel Cassel has butterfingers.
Greene was a good college QB, that's all I know about him.
Greene was more of a "manage the game" type QB at Georgia than anything else. He does not posses a great size, arm, or speed. He is one of theose "high character" type guys, and very smart. My guess is solely a practice player.

I do not think they wanted Elgin back...Oldenburg might be back in a few weeks..Funny..Hthe other lineman picked, Hilliard?? nowhere to be found..I think Oldenburg is not going to be re-signed by the Pats. IMO, he is gone.
Elgin is the one that got away...
