Why not give Price some reps at WR?

It is unreasonable for fans to believe that Tate was going to fill in for Randy Moss in running the fly and gos. However, it is much more frustrating that the coaches expect Tate to fill in for Moss in running much of the same routes, which intrinsically fit to Moss' skill sets better than Tate (who lacks the height to gain separation). The offensive coaching does not utilize Tate's skill sets particularly well, he should be running harder outs and deeper curls, not these "Randy" routes.

I think it's pretty clear we need to draft a #1 WR next year with height, that can separate, YAC and make plays. Little Brandon on the outside is not the answer, he's a slot WR at best, he's not what you want outside the hashes.

I wonder if Welker wishes he had #81 out on the field with him, as each game passes by, Wes's future earnings decrease game by game.

Randy meant alot to this offense, headache or not, he meant ALOT !

I liked Price in the draft (and that hasn't changed). But he was raw as hell then and I'm sure he still has plenty of learning left to do. I expected he'd take awhile. And yes, it could get worse. He could run the wrong route or (very likely) make the wrong sight adjustment. Leading to ints.

If he isn't a solid contributor by next preseason, then I'll consider him a bust.

PS-I think that's why he hasn't gone on IR with a phantom injury. He can use all the meeting time and practice time he can't get.

Also, Tate or anyone else dropping passing or Brady being as inaccurate as I've seen him in years were only minor factors in today's loss. We allowed one RB to run for 184 yards! This one ain't on the offense.

Unless you are a coach who sees Price in practice everyday then you have no idea what you'll be seeing in Price. Basically, don't get your hopes up

This makes no sense. You assume that because one person does not live up to your standards that the next person is better.

With that logic you would also presume that if Brady throws an incomplete pass, then the best thing the Pats can do is replace him with Hoyer on the very next snap.
I am suggesting replacing an unproven and largely ineffective WR with a similarly unproven WR. You are suggesting that I'd do the same and replace a 1st ballot HOF QB with an unproven QB if said 1st ballot HOF QB misses a pass.

I hope you see where the disconnect is with such an implication.

I thought yesterday would be a great time for Ohio U alum Price to be on his first-ever game-day 45.
Once again, I thought wrong.

Although he showed nothing during the pre-season to warrant regular-season consideration,
perhaps the time is now to see if Price has learned the lessons taught him thus far.
For one game at least, he can replace either Invisible Edelman or Bethel Tate.
I doubt we would notice the difference.

I dont think he is grasping the playbook yet and struggling in practice. That is why he hasnt even been active for games

my guess is he is not good a nuff to get any reps, even Julian Edelman, who end it last year as the pats best WR can't get on the field

OK guys, not sure what the deal is here but

height DOES NOT EQUAL separation

not sure why many of you say this, height is helpful at times, like deep balls, but u want someone who can get separation over someone with height all the time, hence our tallest wr is on the PS

also, how exactly did we do it in 03 and 04?? those wr's didtn have any more height than the ones we have now
