It was a bad decision to trade Seymour. Perhaps Pioli might have been able to keep Belichick from making some of the many poor decisions he's made in the past year. Instead, the team's giving up 3rds and 5ths for Burgess while giving Hobbs away for a pair of 5ths, and foolishly weakening the strongest part of the defense for a pick years down the road.

I'm saying that it's possible. We don't know the inner workings and can only speculate. However, looking at this past season, it seems pretty clear that Belichick without Pioli has been a bad thing. That's only correlation, and causation can't be proven, but it's something I've looked at.

Seymour also had some injury issues. Maybe BB didn't want to gamble that he'd be healthy all year. And a #1 pick is really good value.

I'm surprised at Seymour's numbers in Oakland. I admit I haven't watched the games...c'mon, it's Oakland But I thought he'd have a huge season. 4 sacks is respectable, though 2 came opening night when he was pissed off at the world, and 2 came against Philly when their line was depleted.

He might have done a much better job for us, but it's not as if he's lighting the world on fire over in Oakland.

he just a seen a first round pick for a guy they are not going to resign next year

he trade it away he's best kick returner for a 5th round pick because he was a FA the next year the pats just dont pay there guys

The only thing the Pats saved was the difference between his salary and that of the player who took his place on the salary cap, which is about $3 million.

And, as I said before, they were willing to pay Asante more than twice that much two years ago. So this doesn't hold water, any more than your inanity about the footbridge.
