Why is rex burkhead on this team

Because Ernie Adams has yet to perfect the crystal ball which tells him who gets injured every year.
Guess he hasn’t perfected looking at game logs the past 3 seasons either
Healthy for 22 of 39 regular season games

See a pattern?

Is this guys 4 games per season really worth a roster spot? The guys softer than feathers

Rex was nails in the playoffs last year. I never got the criticism of him. He's versatile and productive. He's smart and tough. A prototypical Pats player.

People forget that Edelman struggled with injuries for the first 5 years of his career. There's a fair amount of luck involved with staying healthy.

Considering he went on IR last year, he played in every game he was eligible.

And why are you including this year to show a pattern? The most games he could have played so far is 7, after MNF.

Thank God Bill is coach and not forum posters.

Rex is THE MAN on critical downs late in the season.
He has kinda taken over for Amendola

Rex earned a small pass from me for his performance in the playoffs last year.

It’s already worn out. At this point who cares what he can do if he can’t ever get on the field?

Bill does. And as things go, that's the only true opinion that matters.

Bolden and White can do the job.

I dont mind at all that Bolden sees more playing time. And, If Sony is coming back from injury, he needs the reps or he will never get up to speed. Sony certainly does not look like the same guy in the mid to late part of last season. Maybe its a good thing that Burkhead is not taking snaps from the others.

Why would you make this thread when Sony Michel is wasting a roster spot?
Sony Michel? The player with 380 carries for 1615 yards and 15 touchdowns in the 22 games he has played?

You don’t really need a crystal ball to predict Burkhead getting injured.

Last season entire offensive line healthy all year.

This season offensive line beset by injuries.

Last season drafted Sony Michel even with injury question mark.

Sony Michel became only 2018 rookie to contribute in playoffs.

Isaiah Wynn has no medical red flags when drafted. Goes on IR twice.

Rex Burkhead has history of injury. Plays 50+ snaps in each playoff game last season (including special teams) and plays in AFCC and Super Bowl in 2017.

This season every WR dinged up. Every DB and LB seems healthy except possibly Chung.

Last season RBs so banged up Cordarellle Patterson became primary RB for a little bit. This season RBs so healthy 2nd round pick doesn't see field.

Complaining about this is a waste of energy. You get depth everywhere you can and even then circumstances can deplete a position like WR right now, where Meyers is the only non-injured guy. Burkhead is part of the depth that makes the position healthy, even if he's not healthy right now.

You mean the guy who this board trashed for a couple of seasons because of injuries before becoming a playoff hero? No way are people here that consistently shallow and frustrated. We’re the smahtest football site around.

You're basically complaining that a guy who is a situational depth back isn't on the field all the time.

I mean... duh? He has a knack for being able to bring fresh legs late in the game. That's valuable depth.

Got a little tear in my eye one of the first people Brady found to celebrate with was Andrews.

Does anyone know how injured he is? Are they keeping him out of the lineup because theres no way he can play or are they managing something fairly minor so he'll be 100 percent when hes needed down the road?

He's on the team because when he isn't hurt, he's really good. It is frustrating, however, that he's hurt so often...
