Why I Love the 'Blueprint' talk and the so-called weaknesses exposed

From what I've heard about the so-called "blueprint" wouldn't it work against just about any team with a good QB and passing game? Getting a good pass rush and being physical will work against any team.

You are exactly right and that is why the whole idea is so stupid...

Think a coach ever said to his team, Don't be too physical out there? Lets not have a pash russ?

If the Pats win in a blowout on Sunday this blueprint BS would come to an end.Could you imagine some of the the headlines Monday morning if the Pats just crush the Steelers on Sunday.

Wait - I'm unclear.

Is the blueprint about how teams can lose by three points?

Or is it a blueprint of how the Patriots can win by three points?

My point is that if we enter the playoffs with teams thinking they have a chance to beat us by bringing pressure on Brady and running the ball, BB is 3 steps ahead of them, and they will never succeed at it.

In some ways, I think BB WANTS there to be a preceived blueprint TODAY, so that by playoff time, he knows how he will be attacked.

I would not be surprised if over the next 4 games, we throw an awful lot against teams that blitz heavily, and we play defense that doesn't make any overcommitment to stopping the run.

Yeah, teams do have a chance against us if they pressure Brady. And if we can't stop the run or slow down a pass attack, like recently. So it is not surprising if anybody believes that. We didn't win games at the last minute because it was the convenient thing to do.

BB is surely not pleased about how this team has looked recently. It is absurd to shrug off the problems we seem to be developing as some sort of clever rope a dope master plan. BB will never look at our struggles that way.
The best thing we can do is play better in the trenches and in the secondary, and stop dropping passes.

And I also would not be surprised if we throw a lot over the next four games and don't overcommit to any one area on defense. Sounds like the last three seasons to me, not a big revelation.

As somebody rightly pointed out, it comes down to execution on the field.

I believe we are probably just in a lull and all the blueprint stuff and the associated BB rope a dope theories will evaporate when we decide to play better again.

Other teams that had what were considered, dominate years, even lost games. They had 2-3 games stretches where they didn't play well, but got thier act together at the end. No reason the Patriots can't too.

I agree completely.

That is why I am not going to get involved in BB rope a dope theories.

The ONLY thing on BB's mind right now is how to get his boys to play up to their potential each week. He is not spending a second thinking about whatever blueprint of the week is floating around. That is as irrelevant as it gets to BB.
