Why don't any of you have patience?

Last season they were the #1 run defense in the NFL, ranked 5th in points allowed, 3rd fewest yards allowed per drive… 4th lowest scoring percentage in the NFL. In terms of player personnel, they’re the same exact defense.

They have some key injuries in Barmore and Bentley but the coaching is not nearly as good.
Barmore? Bentley? Guy? Judon?

Not quite the exact same personnel on the field now.

Still fielding better talent than their performance this year shows.

No need to feel sorry for me - like my username says, I have been a 64 year Patriots fan and I’m good with the Brady years. When you have the opportunity to experience Greatness (that in all likelihood will never occur again) I’ll take it and RUN!!
I guess my point is that we have experienced a lot of great moments, including a 20-year dynasty. We should enjoy anything else that we get. We may not see any more greatness. However, we now have a QB, hundreds of millions to spend, and an ownership that wants to succeed (many of course don't believe that).

Add OLB, ILB and SS to the list.
I think that the cap's needs are a better list.

SS - Dugger and Mapu (plus Peppers) doesn't spell "need" to me
OLB - We always need an additional edge rusher. However, Jennings and White are a good start.
ILB - Sure, we always need to add a stud but Tavai/Bentley/Elliss doesn't spell "needy" to me

And what are you using to determine that? He doesnt apply any pressure. He hasn’t been a stalwart stopping the run. Many games he’s getting pushed right off the ball. Granted, he has been the best DL in stopping the run but thats really not saying much. He’s been avg.
???
Consider that Godchaux was on IR instead of Bentley. The loss would be truly insumountable.

“I don’t care I can’t stand it!”

In all seriousness, we have the logic to be impatient. We have not won a playoff game in almost 6 years. That’s a long time.

If this is untrue, then how do you explain that we are currently sitting in the first overall draft posistion half way through thre season.
Just a coincidence?
Talented teams can lose.

Less talented teams can win.

"Execution" and "talent" are two completely different things.

I already qualified that this defense would be much better with Barmore and Bentley, scroll up... that was my entire point.

They are still worse coached, less disciplined, make more mistakes. This is not unlike the Jet's defense, which got significantly worse once they fired Saleh. Coaching matters.

I agree that there have been great moments through the years but a 20-year dynasty is something very few can count as their defining achievement. Looks like the QB is a “keeper”, and we do have “cash to burn”, but the early returns on correcting our WR’s and O-line doesn’t leave me brimming with confidence. No pressure but If those corrections are not in place next season we’ll probably all be looking for a “do over” including ownership.

Oh the clown's awake, everyone!

Gonna disagree. Teams would be running down our throat just like they are now. Teams are manhandling our D, which includes Godchaux at will.

McPoo, Bentley, Uncle Dugg?
McPoo is playing FS. If the Pats sign a real FS in the off-season, his ass will be kicked to the curb.

They desperately need a faster playmaking LB next to Bentley.

It's amazing the Pats sign Uncle Dugg to a top contract when he needs to be the 3rd S in the rotation. Without McCourty playing center field and Phillips as the deep S's, he's terrible.

I personally think Mapu is playing out of position, I look at him as a quick/light linebacker.
I'm JAG, so what do I know...

Sure, we "desperately" need a better ILB that the #2 best defender on the team.

I'm fine with Bentley and Tavai playing the middle.

One draft where the only good pick was the layup at #3... every other draftee blows.

Also Wolf stunk it up in free agency, blaming the market when he chose crappy players is disingenuous at best.

You mean like Trey Lance was a layup at 3, or Sach Wilson at 2? You mean lay ups like those?

And if it was such a lay up why was Belichick against the pick?

Had Belichick still been the one doing their drafting then Maye would be elsewhere .
