1) Nothing wrong with giving Brady a rest on obvious running downs (1st and 2nd) by utilizing Tebow in McDaniels' wildhorse. That way we preserve having the best offense in the NFL. Also there is nothing wrong with trying something new especially if it was already succesful in Denver.

2) Tebow has already proven he is a good qb at the NFL level. He has taken a team to the playoffs that was not playing well at all until he started. He has also won a playoff game and is a multiple threat as a runner and a thrower.

3) Dumb argument to say a team isn't carrying 3 qb's if one is a rookie? So rookies don't count anymore? So what were Russell Wilson, RG3 and Luck?

4) Tebow has the drive, determination, talent and athleticism to become one of the best Tight Ends in the NFL. Oh and he also would have a guy named Brady throwing him the ball.

Keep Tebow.

I already added you to the ignore list because your a teblower, but i figured id shoot down your responses so that you can toss out more nonsense later for others to laugh at.

1.)Obvious passing downs are a good chance to throw deep to catch the defense off guard. You are saying Tebow should be on the field 1st and 10 or 2nd and short? I think not. not in a million funking years

2.)1/7 -1 yard 1 interception 3 sacks in 2+ quarters of play vs 3rd stringers for a bad nfc team. Tebow is not a good QB, hes a lucky QB who can occasionally run on a defense that has holes. Tebow's winning percentage against teams with winning records is sub 50%

3.)rookie QB's are developmental qb's If you take a qb in the draft, and you dont have a solid starter, you tend to keep them to see if they show a spark to beomce the franchise starter. Russell wilson was not drafted with the intention he was going to start last year, he earned it. those other guys were drafted to be franchise guys, and in washingtons case they drafted cousins to be a backup, potentially if rg3 didnt pan out. I huge difference between keeping 3 guys that all are getting paid more then the rookie wage scale

4.)Tebow doesn't want to play tight end, Tebow can catch just slightly better then he throws. We have the best tightend in football, we have a promising rookie tight end who looks to be every bit as good as gronk was his rookie season. Tebow is not better then either of them. Heart doesnt = talent.

Why did you go an ruin it? I was having fun watching this guy real in monster fish after monster fish!

It's amazing so few catch on ,but I'll give detpatsfan credit , he was funny at least and didn't do it in a mean spirited way .

It's clearly a troll account.

You were trolled Sunshine. The guy isn't a Tebowite.

And chasa takes the bait. I understand you think we all talk like this, but it just looks funny seeing you respond to an obvious troll account.

The fascinating thing about Tim Tebow is he causes so many people to miss the obvious.

The first game, they let him play in a spread-option package. He drove the team for one TD and nearly threw a bomb for another. If you count all of the successful option plays as complete passes (i.e. "what if a statue/pocket QB passed for these numbers, as opposed to an option QB passing/running/distributing for them") he had a pretty decent game.

The second game, they experimented with Tebow as a conventional QB. Hand the ball off or drop back and throw. Of course he looked terrible. He is terrible at it. If Florida ran those plays he would have looked bad in college too. Denver tried it w/ him for 2 games and nearly got him laughed out of the league. Everyone knows this about Tebow already. I'm not sure why the Patriots even tried it but preseason is weird, and you don't want to show your hand w/ playcalling or personnel. It also gave the TT haters a chance to dance and sing for a week...not sure what that accomplishes besides making the Pete Prisco dogmatists of the football world happy.

The third game, he probably won't play much if at all because it's the "dress rehearsal" for the first & second-string QB, so "all eyes on Tebow" will be watching a player sit on the bench.

all the more reason to ignore it.

Says the guy who busted out a 300 or so word response to said troll

Pssst. FYI: You were the fish

You've been trolled!

They want it to be real, therefore it counts.

Yet again this thread provides entertainment on a scale I thought I'd never see in an internet forum.

The last few hours of civility have actually been a pretty nice breath of fresh air, too. I enjoys going toe to toe with trolls from time to time, but watching endless pages of it gets tiresome, after awhile. We (collectively) were due for a changeup, before the usual suspects start stirring again.

Re: Re: Why did this team sign Tebow?

You're kidding right?

None of those quarterbacks you listed have anything close to Tebow's running ability. Also, none of them with the exceptions of Hasselbeck (who is old) and Grossman (who had the best defense in the NFL carrying him) have won a playoff game.

See what happens when you get the party late...

Sigh. In two years at Tampa, Steve Young racked up passer ratings of 56.9 and 65.5. His highest comp % was 53.7%. He had 11 Passing TDs and 21 INTs.

Steve Young had a hell of a lot more than "a few things" to learn about being a QB.

As for Tebow and the Pats. No one has claimed that they do owe him anything or that they should be a charity for Tebow or his fans.

We have all been rather clear in saying that IF they keep on the roster and try to develop him, it's because THEY see something there worth developing.

No need to get in a huff. I am looking at Young's game log in 86. 6 games over 200 yards out of 14, and 5 with a passer rating of 80+. That is more than reasonable for a kid playing on a horrible football team. And before you go there, it was a different era back then. Sure there were plenty of clunkers but also plenty of positives. I see he also rushed for 5.7 YPC. Hence, a guy who was learning and developing, not a 26 year old journeyman QB in an era that clearly favors passing who has major fundamental flaws in his passing game that are not getting better.

Or achieve a quarterback rating greater than 0...

Ugh. As a Pats fan, I never thought my expectations would have to fall this low. This is supposed to be what it's like for Jets fans, not us.

First, which site are you using so that we'll be working from the same stats. I say this because I'm seeing 5 games with over 200 yds.

(BTW, I think it's pointless to argue this, but I'll go ahead and do it anyways.)

You keep talking about Tampa being a horrible team, which more than implies that Denver wasn't. When Tebow took over, their previous record was 5-22.

You talk about how Young was a guy learning and developing. I'm guessing that you are much younger than I am and you didn't actually watch Young play. Is that correct ?

Did you know that the 1986 season was actually Young's 4th year as a Pro Football player ? That in the very year you are looking at, 1986, Steve Young was 25 years old ? That in 1987 with San Fran, that was his 5th year as a Pro and that he was 26 during that season? Lastly, did you know that when he finally became the regular starter for the 49'ers, in Sept of 92 he was 30 years old and had his 31st birthday on game day of the 6th game of the season (against the Pats) ?
