Wikipedia on the "21st century"
The 21st century is the current century of the Anno Domini era or the Common Era, in accordance with the Gregorian calendar. It began on January 1, 2001, and will end on December 31, 2100.[1] It is the 1st century of the 3rd millennium.

Any other argument or red herring to distract from the fact (not opinion, fact) that this century started on January 1 2001 is completely irrelevant.

I know what you guys have been saying. I even stated I wasn't being scientific, just that I celebrated in 2000 not 2001. And you flamed me for it just like I knew you would. This is laughable.

Not flaming you at all.

It's simple.

Preparing for Brady and our offense takes a lot. Now adding Tebow makes teams have to prepare for a new offense on top of our regular one.

EVERYONE celebrated in 2000. the only ones that didn't were the anally retentive know-it-all's (not that I'm accusing anyone here of being in anyway..you know..retentive )

That would be a good poll question.

My guess is last cut downs.

If he plays like he did the other day I think it's a certainty. As I said in this thread, the Patriots are not a charity for the benefit of one player or his fans, they are a win now team whose coach and QB are in the afternoons of their careers, and they are simply not going to keep a 26 year old QB3 on the roster for the sole purpose of "sitting and learning" if he can't contribute today.

Hopefully we see an improvement and get more of an idea how exactly how he's going to be used to help the team win in 2013.

For the win.

that's an idea, except that since he's so terrible no team will think him a credible threat to actually play.

Feel free to refer to last sentence of previous post that started with "Any other argument or red herring...."

BB did:

The Jets punted three times Sunday against New England, and something strange happened when punter Robert Malone and the coverage team ran onto the field. The Patriots’ defense stayed put.

There was an obvious reason: Tim Tebow, whom Rex Ryan refers to as a “punt protector,” had directed three fake punt plays for first downs this season, including a nifty jump pass for 23 yards to the backup linebacker Nick Bellore a week earlier.

...

But the Patriots were so wary of another fake punt that they were willing to concede a good punt return to prevent Tebow from attempting another fake.

Re: Should Tebow be cut?

I believe Brady was sincere when he stated how he felt about Tebow.

Funny thing is that some people in this thread think that they're smarter than Bill Belichick. Belichick brought Tebow in for a reason and I think that was to develop him. Also many of the anti-Tebow zealots are obsessed with Tebow and his supporters. I am all for rational debate for or against Tebow as a football player. However, the few that decide to attack Tebow and his supporters on a personal level have issues of their own they need to sort out.

That "smarter than Belichick" crap is the same red herring that the homers that were so far gone on the Kool-Aid were throwing out as the Pats were stumbling through a 10-6 2009 campaign. They were saying that in response to those of us that hadn't gone completely insane making the logical point that the team needed a lot of change. Fast forward a year, the team makes said change and enjoys a 14-2 campaign. One year later, a TV special on Belichick following him around that season catches him admitting to Brady during the Saints game that the team needs a lot of change. In the end, those of us saying as much that season were right.

The reason that Belichick brought Tebow in this season was to run the scout team when we face mobile quarterbacks or teams running the read option. Those of you hoping that he will contribute in some way during game day should probably reign yourselves in a bit. The guy looked brutal against Philly's third string.

I still think BB has a plan for him. Hopefully we get to see it soon and it's a lot better than seeing him stink it up on the field at QB against a "defense" composed of guys who will be bagging groceries soon.

I really don't care whether the century started in 2000 or 2001. The moment has gone and I won't be around to give a crap about the next one.

Maybe the tebowites are right. AFter all last year they had ron rivera and nick koutivides on the roster. Special teams and all.

This year I think there's less roster room, but maybe there's room for a "punt protector who might run the ball, etc.". In which case he won't be cut. God's will I guess.

Signing Tebow was a no brainer. You have 90 roster spots in training camp. Surely a kid who has won National Championships, a playoff game, and a Hiseman trophy deserves a shot to make the team. Plus I'm sure that his work on the scout team as a read option type QB, have been very vaulable.

Now with all that said, there is NO WAY he should make this team. Mallett is an NFL caliber QB, who I believe Mallett is a better starting QB, than any of the other QBs currently leading the other AFC East clubs. No need to keep a third QB, especially since they changed the 3rd QB rule. Tebow looked awful on Friday. Granted he looked a little better running the read option, but still, he was terrible.

The politically correct term is "Tebros".
