No offense, but your comparing, basically, their staring QB to our 3rd string "QB".

No offense taken brother. For the record though I'm comparing a 2nd rounder rookie QB first preseason game to a the preseason game of a 1st round QB in his 4th NFL season.

He's also talking about a guy who's been through the entire preseason to date with his team. Hell, Tebow was 8 of 13 in his first preseason game. 1 of his incompletes was a bad drop by Willis and another was a ruling of forward motion while being sacked.

Amazing how much better a QB can play when he's had time to digest more of the offense.

You do realize Geno Smith signed his contract with the Jets a month after Tebow signed here correct?

C with all do respect Brady doesn't have a bad thing to say about anyone, he didn't even speak poorly of Hernandez after Hernandez allegedly murdered someone. Tebow is a nice guy and a hard worker there really isn't any one arguing against that, he just doesn't seem to capable of playing QB in the NFL, and 4 years into his career you're really past that developmental stage, especially when you were a 1st round draft pick.

All the players were told not to comment on Hernandez. Thus, Brady didn't say anything about him. I think Tebow just needs to find that coach that will help him develop further and just maybe he might turn into a viable QB in a few years. I haven't given up on him as a developmental football player. Either way he's competing for 3rd string QB.

Maybe and I hope he does; but in terms of this team right now I want to see us win a Super Bowl and I'd rather give that 53 roster spot to Nate Ebner who could make an impact on special teams, or Brandon Bolden who could step in if god forbid Ridley went down with an injury. I don't want that spot to go to a QB who is going to consume my OC's attention for 2-3 years and he may or may not pan out as a QB.

For the record if Tebow wants to sleep with his window open and come down with a season long case of the Foxboro flu the sends him to injured reserve I'd be all for it. At the very least we can have this discussion all over again next year

Tom Brady comments on Aaron Hernandez

from the article you linked:
brady's answer to Aaron H question.

"i’ve seen a lot of things over 13 years, and what I have learned is that mental toughness and putting aside personal agendas for what’s in the best interest of the team matters most. My job is to play quarterback, and I’m going to do that the best way I know how, because I owe that to my teammates regardless of who is out there on the field with me. I have moved on. I’m focusing on the great teammates I have who are committed to helping us win games. The only thing I care about is winning. Nothing is going to ever get in the way of that goal. I’m just excited to report to camp and see what we can accomplish as a team. The fate of our season will be determined by the players in our locker room—nothing else."

Where did he specifically talk about Hernandez in that answer? Brady danced around the question

He's moved on from Aaron Hernandez. That was his comment.

I think you're nitpicking once again. Here's what I meant by none of the players talked about Hernandez. None said anything specific about him: like he was a good teammate, bad teammate, what he did was bad or anything. They didn't comment on the him specifically. When Tim was asked about Aaron he said that it was a sad situation and he's praying for all involved. That's all he said and never specifically talked about Hernandez.

Also I can link a video of Tim's interview where he says I was told not to comment on Hernandez.

Geno Smith signs rookie contract with Jets

Sigh!

PATSFANS RULE 37
Do not try to divert arguments with the use of facts.

One thing to be careful of when using facts is that you actually use all the pertinent ones that are available.

To whit:

New York Jets

First day: April 15
OTAs: May 20, May 22-23, May 28, May 30-31, June 3-6
Mandatory minicamp: June 11-13
Rookie minicamp: May 10-12

And yes, Geno Smith participated even though he hadn't signed his contract.

Oh, and here's Geno picking up his playbook.

Geno Arrives, Picks Up His Playbook

Hmmm, Geno picks up the Jets playbook on April 27th, participates in team OTAs (practices) on May 20, May 22-23, May 28, May 30-31, June 3-6 and also attends rookie minicamp from May 10-12.

When was Tebow signed again ? Wasn't it June 11th ?

Kind of looks like what I said, huh ? Got anything else ?

EDIT: BTW, did the math for you. Geno had the Jet's Playbook 45 days before Tebow was signed. I'd think that a guy could get a pretty good jump on learning things with a 45 day headstart.

Nitpicking? Did you or did you not say that Brady "didn't say anything about him"? He did say that he moved on in reference to Hernandez when he was asked about Hernandez. I don't even know why you brought it up to be perfectly frank with you. But since you did, it was worth noting that Brady and Tebow have both said something about Hernandez now didn't they?

Take a break Christiancat - I know that you talk about so few things that you are trying to recycle around here.

he didn't specifically talk about Hernandez. Brady said he moved on.

Example if someone asked me what do you think of Tim's time in Denver?

I answer I have moved on. How is my answer to that question specifically saying anything about Tim.

Also you need to worry about yourself rather than what people talk about on the board.

It's somewhat comical that you're suggesting participating in OTA's is more beneficial that the 36+ months that Tebow has spent in the NFL, practicing, training, OTA'S, live game action. As far as the playbook goes he spent his entire rookie season in a McDaniel's offense, but that doesn't count right?

Honestly I'd be in here arguing against any 3rd string QB just because I want the roster spot to go to a player more likely to contribute to the success of the team; Tebow's performance last night just validated that belief for me.

Imagine what a guy can do with a 3+ year head start. Apparently not much in Tebow's case.

You're reaching brother; just let it go Brady is a nice guy, and honesty even if Brady loved Tebow does it really matter? Do you have any clue how much Brady loves Wes Welker? Can you say bromance....

Welker #83 Denver Broncos

I would bet that Tim Tebow has a restraining order against you.
