An American Coach in London: NBC Sports Premier League Film featuring Jason Sudeikis - YouTube Thought some of you might like this
I wouldn't say all Americans "hate" soccer. There's obviously a reason why NBC/Comcast spent $250 Million on getting English Premiere League TV rights for America. That's because soccer is continuing to grow in popularity, attendance, etc. Now yes soccer will not approach the NFL here but the sport will have it's audience. Which as a supporter and fan myself I am perfectly fine with.
"Why Americans hate soccer"----------This is what I heard the most ridiculous words. Americans are very interested in ball games. Do not hate this assertion.
I don't think soccer is popular here because the players don't use their hands. Beside the 4 major American sports, I'd much rather watch golf, swimming and diving, gymnastics, tennis, curling, pool and a host of other sports. Even track is better, and they don't use their hands either.
Here is popular soccer, in Europe football, as for me all depends from person, i like football, especially English PL
i can't stand soccer. I admire the players. and respect the skill involved. but that game blows. it will never catch on in the states. because we have 4 games that are so much better to watch.
no, it hasn't caught on. nobody talks about it. nobody follows it except for transplants from other countries. its gone as far as it ever will. thank god for that.
I think it's just a tradition that everyone tries to justify for no real reason. When you boil it down, football, soccer, basketball, and hockey are all very similar sports. They're all about movement, passing, and getting into position for a score.
