Why 2015's NFL Scores Are The Weirdest In History

I'm still not a fan of this new rule, I'd rather games were won in OT than because of missed XP's.

I love the new XP rule. Let the teams earn that point. A little more unpredictable the more fun it is to watch.

yup, the new XP rule introduces a fun element into the game

To me it's a tough call.

On one hand the new extra point is more exciting/fun/meaningful.

On the other hand I'm not so sure I want games (and as a result playoff seeding and making or missing the playoffs) being decided on whether or not a team makes an extra point.

Fortunately for the Patriots, their kicker is Stephen Gostkowski.

This article is like porn to me.

IMHO it's all the same. Everything is a part of the game and if you can't kick an extra point or stop a team from scoring on their first possession in overtime, you deserve to lose, no matter how it happens. The only thing that I don't like is when an official determines the outcome of a game with a missed call.

I'm not a fan of the rule simply because it takes away the element of the fake extra point.

The XP rule of the past was outdated. I believe at one point in 2014 XP kicks were 381 out of 383. Off the top of my head I think, if rounded off to the nearest whole percentage point, that is a success rate of 100% (possibly 99%).

Unless an extra point is a competitive opportunity(not 99 to 100 percent) for a point, why not just award 7 for the TD, move on with the game, dispense with this formality? IMHO moving it back made the point what it should be an opportunity for a point, a competitive opportunity, versus a formality.

What may be interesting is once enough sample data is on the books, it may make sense for potent offenses to go for 2 routinely. Maybe, maybe not but stranger things have happened....
