Check this list of players, and guess the youngest player of the group:

George Bussey
Shawn Crable
Matt Gutierrez
Laurence Maroney
Sebastian Vollmer
Jonathan Wilhite

I'll bite.

Without looking at the roster stats, of course, I'll guess that it's LoMo as I remember that he was really young coming out of college, and most of the others I remember being a bit older coming out, so I bet that LoMo is still the youngest.

Maroney.

And he is made of glass and I hope he suffers the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune.

Logic would say it's probably Bussey or Vollmer. However as I recall Maroney left college a year early and is still fairly young - while many other college players are red-shirted.

My guess is Laurence Maroney.

Right, Maroney.

I was sort of surprised at this when I noticed it.
I guess it says we may not have seen the finished product yet.
He has been in the NFL at a pretty young age.
It's quite possible that he has not peaked, and could become more solid, more mature, over the next couple years.

If you compare Maroney to other running backs entering their fourth year, he's not at the top of the list. But when you compare him to guys like Crable, Wilhite, Gutierrez, not to mention Vollmer and Bussey, he's well ahead of the curve.

Who is the youngest on the team? Is it Brandon Tate?

Brandon Tate at 21, followed by Ron Brace and Jerod Mayo at 22.

:agree:

I absolutely didn't know that and it changes a lot. Now i get why he's injured often and doesn't handle criticism appropriately. He's still a kid!! If i would have to compete with these guys at this level (i'm 19), i would absolutely be killed.

I was on the 'let's get rid of LoMo' bandwagon, but now i'm hooping on the 'let's give him another chance to prove himself' bandwagon.

Chung should be the second youngest

Brandon Tate at 21, followed by Ron Brace and Jerod Mayo at 22.

It's Tate, then Chung, Kettani, Appleby, and then Brace. Mayo is the 15th youngest, but the youngest (current) starter on the team.
