"Who's Hot, Who's Not" -- Patriots-Cardinals

Willie Andrews will make the team.

Asante Samuel IS our #1 corner. I dont care what anyone says about Hobbs. Hobbs is not ready to be a #1 not by a long shot. Samuel proved he is the top CB on this team. Hell I'd like to see Randall Gay jump up on the depth chart.

Oh, and missing off the Hot list should be Asante Samuel. One pick, and a almost pick - same as last week.

I thought he looked good as well. Hope his neck is OK.

Hey where's the love for Wilfork ? The man was destroying the Cardinals' run game early on. Looked like a man amongst boys.

Hell, so many players looked good tonight it's easy to forget one here or there

Christ, how about Kevin Faulk ? Two huge 3rd down draw runs, and two great catch and runs. We might have the best '1-2-3' RB combo in the NFL.

The whole team was sick tonight. Must have wanted to impress the new guy (#55) or something . . .

Have you seen BB's final 53 already? He looked very raw, or like a player who really hasn't found his niche yet. Talent and a competitive spirit are what you need and he has those two qualities, so he probably will make it, but he's no lock.
Yeh, but he's from Baylor, so he's a lock. Careful not to sit on any horns, cowpoker.

Thomas looked good too Showed some nice speed with that over the shoulder catch. Nice and smooth. And Watson showing the nice hands.

Ouch!

Now David Thomas is a lock. A TIGHT lock at that.

Thomas and Mills did some nice blocking also. Both had really solid blocks on Evans' TD run.

It is somewhat interesting to note that Childress has also got some reps at DB and Andrews is getting some reps at WR. Is this just opportunistic on Belichick's part or is he trying to add more players to the Troy Brown model ??

I'm really impressed with Thomas, and Mills had a couple of nice blocks. We are so stacked at TE.

I dunno, I believe TheHives standard for that is a darker tan than Thomas sports. I like the kids blocking so far, he's much better then was reported.

BB has Pioli shop for them, you can never have too many Troy Browns.

Nice to see Grahambo back on the field,at least one nice catch, and some timely blocking.

The O'C looked good in pass protection and run blocking started slow but he picked it up as the 1/2 went on. (somewhere during the draft I found a picture of him dressed as a mountain man with a rifle biting the head off of a duck (Oregon State, get it?) and wondered if we could get him to reprise the role abusing a fish.)

Mills is a kid I really like. Did some blitz pick-up and made a few plays.

All in all, its going to be hard to make cuts based on this game tape. Very impressive win considering we were without Bruschi, Sey, Rodney, Jr., Kaczur, and Jackson.

Finally, two names I didn't here mentioned were Colvin and Mincey.

Love Troy Brown. Clone(s) would be great !!

Troy Brown clones are probably second on BB's list, right after Vrabel clones (the Pats need more depth at LB, and you know how much BB loves TEs ).

What sucks, his solid punt returns or the dropped pass that he got playing a new position. OK, he fumbled one punt. He doesn't suck. And he won't be cut.

COULDN'T AGREE MORE. I thought Andrews showed up really nicely. He muffed one punt, but handled the duty pretty damn well. He dropped one pass, but he became a WR about two seconds ago. You guys are being a bit harsh, IMO. Looks like a DEFINITE keeper in my book.

NOT:

NFL Network announcing team. I'm usually pretty tolerant of announcers, but that was painful. The 432 repetitions of "decisive" were bad enough, but the knockout punch came after a nice play by Troy Brown:

"You can't teach that! That's learned behavior!"

:violent:

I caught that too. The coverage of the game was quite poor. Showing the wrong highlight, not haviong graphics for the starting lineups, effusive praise for Leinart after every play.
