He can do both as long as he is allowed to press his man at the LOS. He has his limitations, though, and should get pretty consistent safety help.

That's a fair point. I can see putting Revis on Hartline. In that case, I could definitely see Dennard with safety help on Wallace. I have a harder time seeing Ryan on Wallace.

Dennard is my pick. The guy is a very solid #2 corner. His issues are injuries and off the field stuff. On the field, he plays bigger than his stature and with an attitude. I think he's better than Browner, who I was never sold on in the first place. I look at him as more of a matchup specific player than a true #2 corner.

I agree that it'll be based on who matches up best with Hartline. Though it's worth mentioning Hartline had more catches, yards, and yards per catch than Wallace.

Wallace got a lot more attention, no doubt, but so far he's been a one-trick pony in Miami and the Dolphins' OL has been so poor they can't even take advantage of that. I wouldn't be surprised to see Revis on Hartline either, with safety help on Wallace for whoever the other corner is. Figure they'd have safety help on Wallace anyways because of his speed.

I think Dennard will be the guy regardless.

As good as Collins was in coverage as a rookie, he could very well be a difference maker going after the QB. He is very explosive and if we play some 3-4 he he could be attacking the QB on the outside rotating with Jones,Ninkovich. I'm sure coaching is curious about his explosiveness chasing the QB

As for Cornerback#2 I think Logan Ryan has the most upside. He is about6'0 and can play press, has good ball skills and instincts. He breaks quick playing in space and although he looks like he plays to his 4.55 40, he is one of those guys moving faster than he looks like is. I at one time thought he was slightly slow for a cornerback but I have seen him run with speedy WRs and even good makeup speed that surprised because he doesn't look like he is running that fast. And he is a very hard worker who works long and hard at his skills and craft and wants to get better. He didn't have a great preseason but I think he will get better as season progresses like last year. However I won't even try to predict who bill is going to play or in what role.

Some may disagree with this but I think this is a no brainer. Alfonzo Dennard has started for the last 2 seasons and played as good as just about any #2 CB in the NFL. This season is the first one of his career that he does not have an off field situation as a distraction (aka court case pending). I think he is primed for a good season.
Butler had a nice preseason, but right now he is my #5 CB.

Maybe at some point this season he can say “started from the bottom now I’m here” but for now I think you go with the experience CBs.

Logan Ryan spent too much time playing in the pre-season to make me think he will be opposite Revis.

Here is the thing, Logan Ryan as a rookie allowed a 48% completion percentage, led the team with 5 interceptions, and a 49.8 QB rating against, it is very concerning to me that it appears based on the preseason that he and Harmon regressed entering year 2. That is 2 straight seasons where are rookie DBs regressed between their rookie and second season, which begs the question what the F is going on, and do we need to look at coach Flores and coach Boyer to see if they are missing the boat on something.

Ryan should have been primed be at least our slot CB, and maybe he will be in the regular season, I hope the preseason was not an accurate example of his play moving forward.

Considering Wallace had 6 catches for 105 yds receiving and a 39yd TD last year in MIA, putting Revis on him would not be a bad decision either.
