Gotta go with the original #32, Jim Brown, my folks never followed the NFL when I was growing up, so would spend Sunday afternoons with my best friends dad who was a Browns fan.. that turned me on to this great game.

Brown was a beast on the field.. then came the AFC and subsequent Super Bowl, football changed.

Deacon Jones

Honorable Mentions: **** Butkus, Alan Page, Jack Lambert, Walter Payton, Earl Campbell, Joe Montana, and anyone who had anything to do with hanging a Super Bowl loss on the insufferable Don Shula (even those who wore Green Bean uniforms to do so).

This may sound totally homerish, but I don't have any favorites on other teams. It's like I can't even think about liking someone if they play for an opponent. Sorry I am so childish.
100% agree.
And when they leave here, they are dead to me.
I loved Seymour when he was here. Cared absolutely nothing about him with the raiders.
The only exPatriots I ever root for are the guys who are hated on this board just cause they are hated in this board. Few of them last anywhere very long either.

Deion Sanders. Honestly if you want someone who understands football to the core and speaks from a position of being not just the greatest corner but one of the greatest football players period then he is the guy.

There is a reason he has a such a deep appreciation for what the Patriots have done since Kraft came along because he understands GREATNESS.

Deion hands down my favourite non pats player from a football stand point and also from a ex player in the media standpoint. Has been spitting the truth since he was in college.

I have exceptions to that rule. Big Vince is a man that I'll always root for. Same for Logan Mankins, even though he never won a ring. Drew Bledsoe was another. So was Lawyer Milloy.

I might add Butler to that list but I hope I don't have to.

I haven't read this whole thread. I just wanted to make sure someone made the Mo Lewis joke.

If not, Mo Lewis.

Darren Sproles. He has more fight in that 5' 6" frame than most guys. I always wished that he played for the Pats.

Champ Bailey, Darrell Green, Charles Woodson, Derrick Thomas, Ed Reed, Sean Taylor (could have been the greatest safety to ever play.)

definately Sweetness. Payton could beat you with speed, he could juke you or he could run you over and he was an incredible person. As a young RB in the 80s I idolized him.
