Who is the next trade target?

That's right up BBs tree.. something for nothing. All I know is Claypool would be automatically the best WR on this current roster .
He has the talent but couldn't fit in with two teams. Can he be worth the trouble? Especially with our QB situation.

Well.. here's what I'll say... if juju isn't right wich I don't think he's healthy put him in on IR. That creates a roster space. So if they aren't then going use reagor then really him from the squad and sign Claypool. His skill set would help this offense tremendously. Now I just heard Claypool is supposedly interested in the Dolphins.. so we'll see how that goes.

LET"S BE CLEAR
The patriots do NOT have a problem with roster spots.

If we traded for a player, we might not even notice who was cut to make room.

I don't know.. they just don't have a roster that can't compete on a high level in the NFL.. just my opinion.. I'm just a fan of the team and the game like you. But your right though. It's unlikely they'll move juju or parker.. so we're stuck watching them suck

We could trade for a player at any position without cutting a player that many would notice. If we were to sign a WR, I wouldn't cut one our our WR's.

Do we have an open roster spot now? What about when Gonzalez is put on IR?

Is Judon going on IR?

Would we notice if Wheatley were cut? That seems reasonable if Sow and Anderson are healthy.

Could one of the special teamers be cut, signed to the Practice Squad, and then elevated for the week. Speed?

My thought is that the issue isn't finding a roster spot or deciding which veteran to cut. The issue is finding available players who can improre the roster.

Good point. I believe judon and gonzo will in fact be going on IR phill perry was talking about the teams waiting for Thornton and Jack to be be fully available before they did place them on IR.

Let me ask. Would you entertain a trade for devante?

QB is the only position they drastically need to improve.

Kirk Cousins, Kyler Murray?
I'll take Murray please.

There is no point in wasting resources "improving" this year's team, unless there is a certainty the player will contribute beyond this year. Even that would require trusting the jugdgment of the present GM, which has been shown to be a foolish approach for years now. The reason we need to replace players is because of his history of ill-judgment. Better to devote this year entirely to evaluating what we have, and beginning the search for a new GM.

Exactly where I am at. Unless it is a young guy we would be looking to extend and be part of the next rebuild this isn't the time to take on veterans unless we just straight up need bodies at the position like we did at corner. I also agree on your "what's the point?" aspect with Bill probably misevaluating whomever is brought in anyways. I want us to figure out which of the multiple rookie guards is going to end up as the starter that will replace Onwenu when he likely leaves. I want to see more Demario Douglas, Thornton (when he's back), and even Boutte over guys we know can't play like Juju. I want to see which of the young corners are starting material. I want to see Keion White getting the bulk of the reps with Trey Flowers just used to spell him.

Jonathan Jones, Jackson, Jack Jones aren't enough for you, with Gonzalez and Marcus Jones both part of 2024? (plus youngster Bolden)

Jackson is hopefully a rental and obviously Gonzalez is a starter. Jack Jones had some moments last season but also could use some work to be a full time starter. Marcus Jones might eventually take the slot role over when Jon Jones goes and Bolden is a late round guy who won't play this year. Like I said I wanted to which of these guys (not counting Gonzalez) can be a starter going forward into 2024.

As a fan I always want them to win. Loosing does something to the locker room culture and guys attitudes and doesn't attract potential FAs.
Sure, we want them to win but I would happily sign up for an awful season to get a real quarterback and high picks throughout the draft

I wish they hadn't gotten another cornerback, and I hope they don't do anything else. You can't ask guys on the roster not to play hard but you can minimize the talent so they lose. Judon and Gonzalez were two of the bright spots on the team, it's almost like a sign they're out for the year

Caleb seems like the real deal. They're not winning a Super Bowl with Mac Jones, so why waste time

So which is it, playing this year or being a starter in 2024?
