Who is ready for an 8-2 run and some playoffs?

They would have to bench Mac and one of the other two QB's would have to play well, anyone believe that is going to happen at this point?
That is why I hate this BB now refusing to adapt even though he knows what he's doing is not working.

You have no clue how the other two QB's would play as starters, it's pure speculation on your part.
We know how Zappe would play as a starter. He is trash. Has no business being in the league. Never did, never will. Full stop. Seems that the other 31 teams agreed with me this past August when he was offered up to them for free and they all said lol no thanks.

Pointless to play out the season with a guy like that. They'll learn nothing about what they have on offense.

Grier is the true unknown but chances are microscopic he will even be at Mac's level never mind better than him. Lost his job to Sam Darnold and PJ Walker with the Panthers. He's also now 28. The outcome will likely be the same as above.

Barring a surprise trade offer for a first rounder for Mac by tomorrow the best option by a mile is to ride it out with Mac and at least have a good idea what the 2024 team needs including at QB.

Brady 2.0 ain't coming folks. The Patriots do not have a savior on the bench just waiting to get his chance. That will never happen again so no point looking that way. Finding a QB is really hard that's why some teams take decades to find one.

So I guess your not speculating then? If they were any good then they'd be playing.. so I guess we're both clueless

I just can't roll my eyes hard enough at this crap.

You know something.. if Mac were in minny.. he'd thrive under O'Connell. An offensive minded coach, creative and not jags at WR. At this point I'd prefer Mac to have a fresh start becuase it's never going to happen here.. it's been long enough idk what we do at QB but we need talent at QB and definitely WR.

RK won't trade Mac you know why because he's paying him pennies on the dollar with his contract. We are in football purgatory it feels.. from the high we all felt last week to the reality we are back to this week. It's purely a talent issue we have had since the GOATs last season here. Will it ever change?

We are indeed in football purgatory. Not a lot of fun. I didn't think we would crater with BB as coach over a couple of seasons to replenish the roster with good young talent but maybe I was wrong and that's what they're doing...then if it is maybe we do have something to look forward to just gotta ride this out for hopefully not too long.

Very possible Mac could use a change of scenery. Feel the same way about Fields who was also not set up for success in Chicago.

im an optimist traditionally, but the scope of the team and that loss in vegas make it hard to think this can happen.

Before the season I thought if we were 3-5 at this point we may have a chance to get 5 straight in this stretch here and challenge for the playoffs . We did it in 21 winning 7 straight against mid competition. But this team isn’t the 21 team, maybe its the loss of judon but the defense isn’t what it needs to be to offset our stale offense. It was the last two years.

And if we cant win games like @vegas it’s unlikely we beat 5 other teams consecutively. After the buffalo game there was hope that we turned a corner offensively, but then yesterday it was back to same ole. Until you get consistent showings like vs Buffalo and philly that its hard to imagine us winning more than 5 or 6 games this year.

Zappe is 2-0 as a starter.

He never should have had the job yanked from last year when Mac was turning the ball over at a league leading pace.

But you know he's trash... based on what?

At some point, as the odds lengthen, hope becomes delusion, and you have to walk away. It's over. To paraphrase our fading GOAT: "We're on to 2024." (with or without the goat)

So I guess your not speculating then? If they were any good then they'd be playing.. so I guess we're both clueless
Only one of us (you) is claiming to know how Zappe/Grier would perform if given starter reps in practice and with a gameplan built around them.

I never claimed to know, but Zappe is 2-0 as a starter in the same exact conditions Mac played in last year. Zappe posted a 100+ QB Rating over two starts.

BB really likes Mac, Obie came here to work with Mac... they both could be wrong, they're not omniscient. If BB knew all, he would have started Brady in 2001 from day one.

He's a midget with no arm, not mobile, not athletic, does nothing in particular well, was dreadful in camp, dreadful in the preseason, got cut and every single team including the teams competing with the Pats right now for the first overall pick said no thanks when they could have had him for free. Cannot handle running an NFL offense. I agree he should have started the Bears game but only because Jones was not healthy enough to go. He had his shot against those Bears, ranked 32nd in the league on defense and stunk up the joint... and so that was that. That's who he is. Not talented enough to be in the league, should have never been drafted where he was, and hopefully won't be long for the roster.

Cooper Rush and Mike White looked way more impressive in their short stints as starters than Zappe did. Nuff said. And regarding that 2-0 record, he had 1 decent game against the Browns aided by the defense making plays and YAC and 1 meh game against the Lions where the defense gave him something like 6 fourth down stops and still failed to throw for 200 yards and score more than 1 TD. Don't see any reason why Mac wouldn't have done better than that.

Regardless of how y'all feel about Mac let's give the Zappe pom pom waving a rest. He stinks, full stop, end of story. It's getting as irritating as the Stidham fanboing a few years ago.

I don’t think Zappe can play but this is basically the same thing as 2020. Why not give him a week to prepare as the starter and see what happens? What do you have to lose? We already know we have a bad starter. Might as well confirm we have a bad backup too.

Because IMO the team will learn nothing about their offense that way. This season should now be about evaluation. Mac is still the best QB on the roster and the best option to let the coaches give the offense a real look.

I am fine with that as well. I really can't bang the drum for either one of the quarterbacks. As far as I am concerned whomever can get the ball to Thornton, Douglas, and hopefully Boutte, should be the guy to play.

With all that said... It's time for BB to go. It has to happen sometime and now seems like a good time.

Maybe the next coach will give our QB's another look with a fresh perspective and make more sense out of what we have. I would also hope he wouldn't bench someone like Boutte for one rookie mistake...

I am very ready to move on from Bill but it is two fold for me as far as moving on from him in season. One thing to consider is I don't want an interim coach catching lightening in a bottle and winning just enough games to have us picking at 10, 11, 12, etc next season. I also don't want anything that happens with an interim coach to influence the decision next year and we end up with a Bill disciple. I want a clean break and a complete fresh start. They need to move on from the dynasty era and that will never happen with traces of Bill lingering.

Then make Judge the interim coach to make sure we stay down? Lol

He’s the same height as Purdy, he’s almost two inches taller than Brees and Russell Wilson. Height is irrelevant if you can play.

The rest of your long winded drivel is presumption based off nothing.

His record says 2-0 and his QB Rating says 100+ as a starter… whether you like it or not.
