Who are we picking in the 3rd round? My guess it will be someone we never heard of. Someone even Mel Kiper Jr never heard of. Someone who will become a Pro Bowler!

I like Gocong or McClover, to fill the OLB need. I like Ko Simpson, Mahelona and Stovall too. Bing wouldn't be bad. For a curveball, how about Whitehurst?

Gabe Watson, baby. LB, Safeties we can get tomorrow.

DeMario Minter CB Georgia
Will Blackmon WR/CB Boston College
Gerris Wilkinson LB Georgia Tech
Pat Watkins FS Florida State

Edit: Throw Darnell Bing S USC in there too.

Any of those i'd be happy with.

Are Wilkerson or Hoyte still available?

Move Vrabel outside and put one of those beasts in the middle.

I never heard of any of them other than Stovall. But I do think we'll use the pick on an LB. Could be ILB too as Bruschi ain't getting any younger and Vrabes could move back outside. (Although BB probably wouldn't play a rookie at ILB since there is a lot of "thinking" at that position.)

I'm thinking we have to, well should, draft a LB or DB. I'm not sold on Ko Simpson, but he would be good value at this point in the draft.

Both are still around, yes.

Is Anthony Smith, S, Syracuse still available?

bing might not last..Pitts and SF need safeties

Yep, he's still on the board. Not a bad choice at all. Forgot about him.

There goes Whitehurst.

True, the Steelers will probably gobble him up. There are a few pretty good safties left, other than Bing, that i'd consider 3rd round talent. Hopefully Belioli does too.

Maybe we package a 5th or 6th and jump past Pitt if that's the guy we want. (I haven't done the math with the value chart so don't jump me if that doesn't add up.) We're not going to use 10 draft picks.

edit: I just realized that they only place left to jump up to is Miami's pick. Saban wouldn't help us now that he is in the division. Would he?

There goes Anthony Smith. Nice pick for the Steelers. Grrrrr.

Some prospects remaining:

Dominique Byrd, Southern Cal TE
Jonathan Scott, Texas OT
Gabe Watson, Michigan DT
Darnell Bing, Southern Cal S
Ko Simpson, South Carolina S
Gerris Wilkinson, Georgia Tech ILB
