When we were Atlanta...

Wow, Drew and Tom on the sidelines... damn I forgot all about Drew...

Okay I gotta get out of here they're showing ALL of 'em... now it's Carolina time

Anyone notice that George H W Bush was the one they chose to do the coin toss? Full circle.

Okay back from dry-cleaning... We're winning 21-16 against Carolina but I got a bad feeling about this...

I'm turning this game off no way we hold on to win it...

Damn, Adam shanked a 31-yarder vs. Carolina. Cut that stiff! #gamedaythreadmode

I remember he missed a kick or two when the Pats played at the Texans in the regular season. Reliant Stadium was not too kind till Vinatieri, till the end of SB 38

Still odd to see him a Colts uniform...

The amount of crap that went wrong in that Carolina game is amazing. Vinatieri misses 2 kicks and then has that god awful squib at the end of the half which results in a 9 point swing. Brady throws that awful pick in the end zone, another 3 point swing. The defense gives up 3 TDs for more than 30 yards after giving up 0 all season. Literally were beating ourselves all night and Richardson still has the balls to say he thinks we filmed their practice? Should have beat these guys by 2 TDs at least.

Been thinking since the Atlanta game about energy. NRG. See what I did there? Anyway, everything's going through that filter lately: Playing soft zone to keep it all in front of you so often, that's saving energy for the 1 or 2 big plays a game hinges on... the outsize influence of Pats teams that have a decent running attack (yes it sets up play action for GOAT... but it also controls the 60-minute energy-flow dynamic...) Suddenly I feel like all the players should have a little bar over them that shows remaining energy (hint, it would be red for everybody on Atlanta by the end of SB LI)...

That game illustrated one more piece of the three-dimensional chess game better than I've ever seen (the energy management part)

Of course I decided immediately that BB understands it better than any other coach evah.

I had seen a statistic on Atlanta's season showing the point differential per quarter. First three quarters they had between 60 to 80 (don't recall exact figures), but in the fourth, they were minus 60 or so. From that stat, it looks like they were up so far in the first three that they relaxed in the fourth with comfortable leads and the defense didn't have to put much effort into it.

In the Super Bowl, they weren't used to having to expend any effort and all the running up that hill by the practice field put the Patriots in much better condition to finish the game... in spectacular fashion!

One stat says it all, their D played 93 snaps, and a lot of that in man coverage. Great game plan, a lot of poor execution in the first half
