What's Your "WTF" Pick ?

Marcus McCauley or Aaron Ross in the first.

After reading the threat dedicated to him, I decided to go with Zak DeOssie. Belichick knows him well and if he feels he can fit our system he may stun us all and selct him at 28.

Why is Beason too small to play the same WILB position that Tedy Bruschi plays? Help me understand your thinking on that.

Beason - 6 foot .25 inches tall. 237 lbs. (this is light for the Pats).

If Bruschi is a full 6'1, I'd be amazed. 2 years ago, he played at 255 when he returned from his injury. He was normally playing at 248. Do you really think it will be that hard for Beason to put on weight?

EDIT: Of Note, Is 7/8" and 5 lbs really that big of a difference? That is the difference between BEASON, whom you say is too small to play the ILB position, and Willis, who you imply is ideal.

I understand your analysis. I'm just not thrilled with Beason or any of the LB's in the draft. I was high on Willis awhile ago but I'm starting to cool off because he could be drafted early and he might have a hard time adapting to the 3-4 scheme. Currently, I hope that playmaking DB's such as Nelson, Griffin, Revis, Ross or Houston fall to the Pats with their #24 and #28 pick. I feel that the value is in the secondary for the first round and the Pats should focus on LB in the third round. Whether or not Samuel re-signs before the draft, I would like to see the Pats get a CB to compete with Hobbs. Then grab a safety to eventually replace Harrison or start right away at FS. I'm starting to learn towards the Pats taking 2 DB's in the first round and surprising everyone on this board.

How could Beason be a WTF pick, after all the talk he's been getting on this board. Obviously, there is something about him that draws interest.

WTF is something like Drew Stanton, where there is no perceptible need, or Lawrence Timmons, who doesn't fit the draft profile we've set for the Pats.

Funny. I just reviewed the top-50 players in the draft, and there are very few that I'm prepared to completely strike from the draft board. Marshawn Lynch and Reggie Nelson, as head cases. But both are great talents that fit needs on the team.

BB is nothing if not unexpected.

To put it bluntly, YES. Staley is better than 2-3 of the players currently on the Pats roster.

.

Oh good. I've been looking for people who have actually seen some Central Michigan games. What were your impressions watching him?

Eric Wright at 28. He's got all the potential in the world.

The Pats are going to draft a TE and QB in the 1st round. Don't we all know that already?
