Ok, with the Culpepper out there saying "he has been contacted" why not speculate about this? At the very least it should set off a complete hornet's nest and amuse me for the rest of work ...
But if Matt Cassel continues to look less-than-stellar at the goal line and the team has to keep settling for FGs the Pats will not be long for the playoffs. I think that is a given.
Say what you want about Culpepper, but he is $$$ inside the 10. I don't have any stats, but I'm sure they would back me up.
Anyway, how would you feel about him being brought in and being used situational as a GL QB? It's just crazy & unorthodox enough that BB might do it. Obviously this is pure speculation and isn't going to happen, but an interesting scenario to discuss nonetheless ...
I honestly don't know how I'd feel about it. I think that the team's future plans with Cassel would be at the heart of it: if they feel they want to try to keep him on as a backup and use this season to develop him and then re-sign him, no way you do it and stunt his development; but if they just want to use him this year and be done with him, it's not as crazy of an option ...
