Here is a look at what is ahead for the Patriots from a media perspective:

Thursday
Rookies begin arriving in town.
Noon -- Jersey presentation with first-round pick Jerod Mayo (with owner Robert Kraft and president Jonathan Kraft)

Friday
10:15-11:15 a.m. -- Minicamp morning practice (open to media/closed to public)
11:15-noon -- Media interviews
noon-12:15 p.m. -- Bill Belichick press conference
2:15-3:15 p.m. -- Minicamp afternoon practice (open to media/closed to public)

Saturday
10:15-11:15 a.m. -- Minicamp morning practice (open to media/closed to public)
11:15-noon -- Media interviews
noon-12:15 p.m. -- Bill Belichick press conference The plan will be to pass along updates along the way.

Last year, they were announced on May 11. Not sure if this was during the rookie mini-camp.

It's always the same routine. Last year, Meriweather was introduced (as #1) on May 11. That night, Reiss posted all the jersey numbers. The next day, minicamp started - May 12.

This year minicamp is a lot earlier (has to do with NFL rules regarding graduation), but the routine will likely be the same. I'm sure Mayo will be introduced as #1 on Thursday, the numbers will be out sometime after that, and minicamp starts on Friday.

Most teams have already released their numbers, but who really cares. It's really not a big deal.

I agree it's not a big deal, but some fans really do get a kick out of hearing about the new jersey numbers. Don't know why.
