I tried to look at teams that need a QB and determine realistic trade potential.....
I looks like we will pick top 3, likely #2. Atlanta, Minnesota, Baltimore, Chicago seem like the best candidates.
Of the group I think Atlanta is the team, they have an extra second round pick from Houston. Currently they are around #6-8, lets say 7 for my argument.
They trade pick #7 + pick number 39 and a #2 from 2009 for pick #2.
Roughly this add up to 1500 + 510 (assuming the finish in the bottom 10 in 2009 then add another 400 -600) total = 2400 - 2600
Plus the Patriots would get 3 top 40 players for less than 1/2 of what the #2 player will get.
The Patriots would have picks 7, 39, 63, 72 (Oakland) and 95 and an extra #2 in 2009.
Even better is if they flip the #7 for even more additional picks (Say #15 and an extra another extra #2)
Worst case is the Patriots are 'stuck' with a franchise LT (Long), stud RB (McFadden) or get the best player in the draft (Dorsey), a pass rusher (Gholyston), etc. etc.
