At the beginning of last year, I said I would pay little attention to the number of games they win over last year and this - two years - except insofar as that number suggests - in the context of all the other data - that the team is making progress in the (latest %##*>!) rebuild. Squeaking into the playoff only to lose to an actually good team doesn't mean that much to me. Maybe they will; maybe they won't. Whatever. Going into next year will be a different story. Then I'll expect a team actually in the hunt for a championship, or a for shot at getting to the SB.

It seems to me they have made decent progress - particularly considering the absolutely asinine decision to turn the team over to Mayo - since Bill left.

I've been a fan since they were the Boston Patriots, so I've seen a lot of disappointing years, but you can still enjoy being a fan during those times if you keep your hopes reasonable and the team seems actually to be working at getting better, which it certainly seems to me the present team is. Last year? Ehhhhh, kinda. In the Bill's last couple of years? Not really. We have picked up a few more players who give some hope, including at quarterback. But the roster still kinda blows overall, right? Parse it all out, I'm pretty content with the present state of affairs in the context of my modest hopes. A prediction? Somewhere around .500. (Isn't that what everybody expects, however they may choose to put it?)

Efficiency is what I'm looking for.. Drake has traits in him already that will allow him to become great.. but Efficiency is what is going to help get him there. That's what I'm looking for.. taking the easy stuff to set up up play action.. that is what Having Josh will do for Drake. I'm with you 100 percent.. by mid to late season teams will not want to face us due to the physicality we will bring.

What I need to see from Curran is efficiency. Curran could be great, but efficiency is his key. By November Curran needs to bring the heat, step up his efficiency, and really write some hard hitting truths. Efficiency is the key.
