What are the best indicators for measuring the team's progress this season?

Yards per pass attempt?
Points allowed per game?
Turnover Margin?
Kicking Efficiency?
3rd down efficiency offense?
3rd down efficiency defense?
QB Passer Rating?
Field position after kickoffs?

Would love to hear your opinion

Cheating accusations. One every week means that we keep winning.

edit:

Turnover ratio and point differential.

And coin toss wins. Have they lost yet, this year? I feel so much more comfortable when we receive to open up the half. I knew bad things were to come in the AFCCG vs. Denver when we lost the toss.

edit #2:

Third down conversion and redzone efficiency. Patriots will lead the league this year.

Yes, this most recent game. But the brilliant opposing coach decided to do just what we like anyhow and let us defend first. Maybe we have something on him?

Whenever you look at statistics, it's easy to confuse correlation with causation. Thus you typically see that teams that run the ball a lot also win a lot, but that's mostly because once a team has a big lead they slow the game down. (The converse is that typically throwing a lot correlates with losing, unless your QB happens to be called Brady of course).

Even turnover differential suffers from this issue to some extent - when a team is well behind, there is greater incentive to make risky plays.

I'd love to see an analysis like the one linked below that took into account the current score at the time of each play (doesn't have to be elaborate - just need close game or blowout parameter).

C'mon, really?

C'mon, really?

As a moderator who frowns upon posters being abusive towards each other, I am deeply disappointed by the tone of your remark. If you can't be welcoming or friendly, then just say nothing.

If "c'mon, really" is "abusive" in your view, then it's time to take a deep breath and try to stop shaking.

No. But being called names like "inane" is the kind of language that makes me want to use the "ignore" option on posters like you.
