What’s our plan at Wide Receiver?

Here we go again, scraping from the bottom of the barrel and trying to justify them as passable nfl receivers. How many more years will Drake Maye have to suffer and how many years will we have to put up with 32nd rated red zone offense until our FO gets a swift kick in the ass and finally invests in a premium NFL wide receiver.
Me saying he is being underrated does not mean that we don't address the position. Is that how you get exercise by jumping to conclusions?

You said how many more years, its been 13 games bro. I agree that the WR needs addressed I just don't think its as dire as you do.

I'm with you. Many ways to skin a cat... TE, RB combo...Just got a better defense, no just get a Left tackle and a running game next.

13 games? It’s been 5 years. Drake Maye is only a small part of the WR disaster that’s been built up

You specified Drake Maye so I thought you were referencing him specifically rather than the state of the franchise.

Kimes is just saying what the Patriots should do. It's just made up.

“I would pick up the phone and call the Steelers about George Pickens now that they’ve signed D.K. Metcalf,” she explained. “They have to be aggressive about doing something, because right now Maye does not have enough help.”

Totally agree here. I believe they are being aggressive but also smart.. because they also can't afford to give up to much draft capital... now Aiyuk is another option.. however Pickens would be excellent on the outside for Drake.

My point is she hasn't heard anything...she's just saying what the Pats should do...same as the drunk guy at the bar. "Patriots linked with Steelers wide receiver George Pickens" is a total lie.

They don't have a plan. This team is snakebitten on the position and has been for awhile. It's easier to avoid it rather than take a big swing and take the heat if it doesn't work. It's why they hedge their bets and trade down from Ladd so they can get Polk and say "at least we got value in a trade" if it doesn't work or when there is a free agency option they go for someone like Sanu instead of the better guy in the market because they can hedge on getting a value deal if it doesn't work.

I don't trust anybody involved in our department on the position

Oh I definitely get your point! Was just alluding to what the herald report was saying.. nothing more than assumptions.... as you said nothing here of note.

I don't think that is true.

They wanted Godwin or Higgins. That was Plan A. They signed Hollins. That was also Plan A (lesser scale)

Now they will transition to potential trades and the draft.

With that said if they go into 2025 with the same WR corp as they do at this moment that means their plans sucked or were pipe dreams to begin with.

From a realistic perspective... I highly doubt that they enter the season with the Same WR corps and expect better results. As you mentioned trade is the most likely scenario.

My gut tells me they want Hunter.

If Hunter goes before they pick, they'll make a trade or two for a quality WR.

I'd love Hunter... what's your thinking on the LT situation? Can lowe become better can real coaching matter for him??

My belief is they will draft a LT. Lowe is a borderline starter so assume they'll upgrade.

Marrone might get more out of him. We'll see.

Main thing is getting the same five guys to play together for and extended period of time. They haven't had cohesion on that line for years.

Maybe hold open tryouts circa The Eagles and hope for the best

I think they pick Hunter (as a WR) if he’s there at 4 or take Tmac. I think they will take an LT somewhere in the draft.
