Although only time will tell, we took an OG in the 4th Round (Layden Robinson), instead of a 6'1 235 pound RB who ran a 40 in the 4.4's and also was an area of need for us. He could have spelled Rhamondre as a rookie and been an insurance policy as well if Rhamondre got injured, and especially to add talented depth and have someone young (only 20 years old) in place if Rhamondre leaves after this upcoming season. And Rhamondre was taken in the 4th Round as well and he's worked out pretty well so far.

we'll sign a free agent RB, probably during camp.

We took a RG because the staff saw a much more serious problem at RG than we seem to see.

Why am I thinking Calvin Anderson could play a big role with the team this year at LT? Is that even possible after his serious illness?

It feels like there are enough bodies (some more talented than others of course) that it could shake out better than expected. Can see 7 or 8 guys competing for starting spots, with the benefit being there’s hopefully less drop off from starter to backup due to inevitable injuries that happen on every team’s OL. Take a look around the league any given year and not the Pats OL situation in a vacuum, and you will find it is the norm and not the exception for teams to deal with some level of OL juggling. The idea of keeping 5 guys upright start to finish just doesn't really happen. There are also almost always a weak link or two. End of day, just hope for good luck with health, Onwenu to be a stud, and for 7-8 guys to show they are deserving of being involved.

That's a big ol' can of Suck-Ass right thar.

Meet the New boss; same as the Old boss.

Garbage, the lot o' them.

Huh?

Compared to those with OT, especially Left Tackle? No we don't.
Hey look, it's 8 guards they project as left tackles.

Or, better still, Jaylen Wright.

I agree that LT is the unanswered question for the rebuild. Even if they work out a 2024 patch, Anderson and Okorafor will be free agents after the season.
The good news is that now we might resign more key players. And we can hope that the line coaching will be better. It couldn’t possibly be worse, right? So many unknowns…

Center is an issue that no-one seems to concerned about.

Andrews is still ok, even if his play has dropped off a bit but he's openly contemplated retirement in the last two preseasons and I'm not 100% convinced that he'll still be around come kickoff week 1

Source for that? I thought the reviews of his play last year were that he'd played as well as ever.

No source, just my own personal opinion

If/when David Andrews retires, Jake Andrews becomes the starting center.

If Jake Andrews isn't good enough, perhaps the Patriots could convert a guard (Strange) to center?

2025 OL
LT: 2025 1st rounder
LG: Sow
C: Strange
RG: Onmwenu
RT: Wallace

Just spit ballin' here...

Yep. I don't think they're very confident in Mafi (and they are probably not certain on how Strange will work out either). Sow has shown some talent in his rookie season after being thrust into action. He's a player that could make a nice "Sophomore Leap". I still would have liked them to have obtained Braelon Allen even if it meant giving up a late round pick next year to do so, and still get the guard (as Allen was there to draft before Layden Robinson).
