We're On To The Titans

I'm thinking the Pats should sit guys coming off injuries instead of rushing them back, like Hogan, Branch, , and maybe even KVN. Possibly even start Hoyer at QB. A 30+ point win is guaranteed even with these guys sitting out. May as well give some guys some much needed rest.

The problem I have with this is several-fold:

1. Pats need to make sure all their horses (who can go) are out there in order to insure that we win

2. The players you mentioned need snaps

3. Hoyer at QB would be a disaster given he doesn’t have much playing time this year.

He is basically a troll with a gimmick of extreme optimism (overconfidence) regarding the Pats...on a Patriots fan forum.
Wonderful. Losers.

How is that trolling?? Unless you some how think this is worse than the people who were ****ting and pissing themselves over the thought of the Chiefs.

It's not trolling it's homering

You believe starting Hoyer against the Titans is a serious post?

It doesn’t bother me at all I just agree with another poster in the thread that it’s an interesting way to troll a board.

Ive seen a lot of very delusional crap here also....just sayin.

Well, there are probably more members here than a Titans board, so that would be expected.

I think the greater point is, pro sports fanbases in the south are not that educated when it comes to sports analysis.

If they're just taking their cues from anti-BB-based "journalists", they're going to have the wrong analysis and just completely disappoint themselves.

Yep.

The way I see it, and have always seen it, going back a ways, is the idea that the 3-4 allows the LBs to come flying downhill to clean up the play. Roberts is a pure 3-4 guy, and I think on 3rds, you sub him out for Marquis Flowers and allow Flowers's speed to spy Mariota. Flush him down the middle in the 3-4, have him try to run inside, and then come up and make the play. But, they need their fastest LB This is where McClellin is severely missed, but Flowers has done pretty well replacing that role.

Something like this:

T. Flowers, Branch, Brown, Guy/Butler, Harrison

Van Noy/Roberts

On 3rds, bring on Wise (he's taken way too many snaps) and kick Butler to 4-3 DT

Flowers, Guy, Butler, Wise

Van Noy, Flowers, Chung (Rover role)

Something along these lines.

The D is deep and super versatile.

The league has seen a regression in pure passing QBs like the last 5 years.

It's 2004 all over again, when guys like Byron Leftwich or someone like that would come in to Foxborough and find themselves down 7-0 immediately, and the D snuffs out the one dimensional QB.

Oh....my...God.

Great post. Welcome to the Board, baby!!

I agree, but if you read their messageboards, they are really delusional. I mean, really bad.

Apparently, the team is in disarray, BB is available to be hired by Jon Robinson, our D sucks really bad and Brady is not that good.

As much as other teams and fanbases hate us, the delusional commentary regarding analysis of the Pats is quite comical.

That thread exists on every single other fan forum I've checked since the story came out.

Exactly.

In all seriousness, I am wondering if Goodell made a phone call to the new ESPN CEO, who is under pressure to make a splash, and heavily suggested they push the "story".

We know the recipe..Take a bunc of rumor or heresay, mix it with some half-truths, sensationalize and then let other outlets piggyback off of the lies.

Worked with Spygate and Deflategate. Why not do it here to try to derail the Pats?

Note how all the info about a re-org with Guerrero and the JimmyG trade were out there for weeks and weeks, but only during the Pats Bye Week, do they decide to manufacture a story.

I was waiting for something and wondering what angle they'd use. I also wonder, if NE makes it all the way, what last minute lie they might try to drop to attempt to distract.

I mean, we've seen it all this point. Goodell and the owners will stop at almost nothing to protect their "investment" to expand overseas.

You evidently don't know what you are talking about. He has taken part in directly insulting other posters before and I recall has been warned by Ashley in the recent past. He's just a gnat.

Well... to be fair I'm sure the thread would exist here too if another team had owned this century like the Pats.

Wow. Every once in a while, it just hits you, you know? How insane this run is?

32 teams. 4 byes/year. That means that the average team gets a bye ever 8 years.

In 17 years? The average team has had 2 byes.

We've had 12. Holy ****.

Right, and 8 in a row?!?!?! We are spoiled into having bye week traditions......mine is to watch all of the Three Games to Glory DVDs over and over. To think, just a couple of years ago I had three to circulate, NOW I HAVE FIVE!!!!!

This makes sense to me too as long as Van Noy is healthy (although I use Guy in teh base and Butler on passing downs). The problem is that he has not been healthy for some time, and was clearly laboring last week. I would not be surprised if he is again used sparingly Sunday. If so, then it will be interesting to see how (and who) they line up. For instance, not sure they would see Harris as a plug in for Van Noy in the 3-4.

So u think the Pats have a chance to lose if Brady throws for 350 and 4 tds and no picks? I don't...if u do u must think the Pats really suck
No I dont but the first thing which came to mind for you to bring out the game from the texans last yr and how brady sucked like brady hasnt had good divisonal games ever and comparing texans defense to the current titans team.
Its you who constantly think the pats suck and will lose the game after the first 3 and out.

“Let Logan, adore, tye covers cooks, Hogan, Edelman....

I wonder just how good the coverage on Edelman can be though, is he going to cover him with a fleece, cotton or wool ? WIll he provide slippers and warm soup coverage also?

Yeah, it may make sense to use some Harris as well if the goal is heavier 3-4 sets, playing downhill vs Henry.

I was more ore less just throwing out an example as to why the Pats versatility, system experience, and skill sets, are pretty strong.

Arguably, all of these things, may actually be a an advantage over all the other perceived superiorr defenses (Minny, Jax, etc). Both of these teams have nice starters and are very, very good on D, but they do lack depth and versatility. It's sort of like Pitt's D...We all know what they're going to do before the game starts.

I think BB has something with Adam Butler for a 3-4 DE and olb Eric Lee as future, good players in a 3-4. James Harrison will be a good tutor on the fly here, so to speak.
