We're On To The Titans

Lol titans fans on their forum think they are going to win

They are surprisingly optimistic. Good for them. Although they must of missed the last 16 years or so of January Patriots football. Still, the game has to be played and the Pats have to take it seriously.

This, from their board, was great (given Marriota's now-famous throw/catch):

I see no problem with the Titans fans being optimistic about their team, thats what fans do. They should, they have a team that made the playoffs, they just beat a team that had a legitimate chance to make it to the show. I believed in 2001 when everyone said the greatest show on turf would smoke us.....nothing wrong with the Titans fans, their just excited, like we were a long time ago. Frankly I hope the Pats take this seriously.

Nah, path of least resistance is better.
Better to get there but not better once you do. I’m more concerned with winning the SB than getting there

It's absolutely not ok for anyone to be that delusional about a game in which the outcome is a foregone conclusion.

Our D guys should have an easy time making Henry fumble the ball, that guy just can’t hold onto the ball.

I agree. That dude runs hard and is a load and I feel better with Harrison here on the weakside edge.

But, yeah, the practicing of gang tackling and stripping will be a big thing this week.

Only concern to me is Mariotta scrambling. He could have success with it but it's doubtful they could still win even so.

Agree and it appears to be obvious as well.

I realize BB has no set defensive formation, but the 3-4 concepts will work nicely on Sat night. With HArrison in here, Branch returning, they should able to mix and match nicely in the box, forcing Mariota to throw.

Give that guy credit for having a much better second half vs KC, as his first half was the bad Mariota from the read option class where it just ends up never being enough at the NFL level. But, he's still not that accurate.

Treat him like a Roethlisberger type gameplan. Keep him in the pocket with strong and consistent edge-setting, and mix man and zone. It's all Mariota/Henry/Delaniee Walker. Flood the middle and play man on the outside like Bears Lovie Smith D would have done. Try to get him to throw outside the numbers.

I'm thinking the Pats should sit guys coming off injuries instead of rushing them back, like Hogan, Branch, , and maybe even KVN. Possibly even start Hoyer at QB. A 30+ point win is guaranteed even with these guys sitting out. May as well give some guys some much needed rest.

Interesting approach to trolling.

Just repeating what Chatham said on his podcast but going 3-4 also helps with Elandon Roberts having a more defined role where he doesnt have to his head so much and hiding KVN's calf injury by not making him go sideline-to-sideline.

Gotta hand it to @patfanken. He's doing a marvelous job of pretending that this will be an actual and serious athletic competition on Saturday, and is presumably doing it with a straight face.

Props to him.

Let's not call out any members of this forum. If you think this will be a blow out, then please list your reasons as to why and not just continue to throw out crazy statements that are bordering on trolling.

That wasn't a call out. I'm literally impressed that he's able to pretend to take the Titans seriously enough to provide an in depth analysis of this "game."

Yep.

The way I see it, and have always seen it, going back a ways, is the idea that the 3-4 allows the LBs to come flying downhill to clean up the play. Roberts is a pure 3-4 guy, and I think on 3rds, you sub him out for Marquis Flowers and allow Flowers's speed to spy Mariota. Flush him down the middle in the 3-4, have him try to run inside, and then come up and make the play. But, they need their fastest LB This is where McClellin is severely missed, but Flowers has done pretty well replacing that role.

Something like this:

T. Flowers, Branch, Brown, Guy/Butler, Harrison

Van Noy/Roberts

On 3rds, bring on Wise (he's taken way too many snaps) and kick Butler to 4-3 DT

Flowers, Guy, Butler, Wise

Van Noy, Flowers, Chung (Rover role)

Something along these lines.

The D is deep and super versatile.

The league has seen a regression in pure passing QBs like the last 5 years.

It's 2004 all over again, when guys like Byron Leftwich or someone like that would come in to Foxborough and find themselves down 7-0 immediately, and the D snuffs out the one dimensional QB.

I agree, but if you read their messageboards, they are really delusional. I mean, really bad.

Apparently, the team is in disarray, BB is available to be hired by Jon Robinson, our D sucks really bad and Brady is not that good.

As much as other teams and fanbases hate us, the delusional commentary regarding analysis of the Pats is quite comical.

Everyone always brings this up which amuses me a bit. He might not run the same things as in Pittsburgh but in the end whatever they installed in July and have been running throughout the regular season is what they will show next Saturday. If they go away from what they have been doing and practicing for months just to "surprise" the Pats then this is the first victory for us. Because the potential for busts in something you have been practicing for a few days over something that you have been running the entire year is a lot bigger.

Similarly, when push comes to shove they will -- as it did against the Steelers on that final Gronk drive -- they will revert back into whatever they feel most comfortable with anyway.

They will come with a couple new looks which might mean that the first quarter will be slower for our team but we will figure out how to design the matchups we want by the second quarter and take control from then on. This has been par or the course with out for a while and I dont expect this game to be any different. Except maybe we have early success with out (scripted) first drive.

There is not enough "Win" in this world to grade this post!!

That's right, baby.
Went with the Toast and the HeadBanger. Double Word Score!!

Who? LT is not on TV, AFAIK.

There's only one LT. Don't sully his good name by applying it to some ***** who couldn't sniff his jock.

Concur. "BLT" as in "BullShytte" will do quite nicely for The Classy One.
