WELL??? Has it happened yet??? [edit wasn't necessary, eh?]

Don't agree. There is no way it is June 1 and after months a deal isn't hammered out. I'm sure there was always 'well, last minute a team could swoop in with an offer and we need to re-open things' but realistically they wouldn't have left the draft without a WR if they were not sure there was a clear framework in place.

Edit: However if something was left open for 'if a team swoops in' it also leaves open the 'what is no one else swoops in' part of that conversation. After all, why should the Pats allow for the Eagles to hold the 'if someone else shows interest the price goes up card' if the Pats don't also hold the 'if no one else shows interest the price goes down card'. I think both teams have to go into this with that in mind.

The good news for the Pats is... no one else has shown interest. That means the Pats will probably get the high end of the deal. The first probably still has to be automatically. But the kicker will be higher.

Exactly: the Pats would have egg on their faces if the unthinkable happens.

11 well not real Receivers: our majority are garbage compared to Philly's 11.
Move Brown form Philadelphia to NE and we have a better wr room than them.

Phew! I didn't know that.

What part of "after 4 pm" did people miss from recent reporting?
You ever notice people talk on subjects like this with absolute authority but then basics like "deal can't be done until at least 4PM on June 1st" somehow doesn't register with them

Highest I'd like them to go is a 2028 1st... assuming we get a pick swap up or a pick back.

If Just Brown and we keep Boutte... A 2028 1st (not 2027) and their 3rd for our 4th.

If Brown for Boutte... Then I'd still be willing to give up a 2028th first, but i'd like a 3rd straight up.

Ideally though, not giving up a first be better. Typically I am very much against giving up a 1st for an older vet. The only reason i am okay doing it here is because Brown's contract for us be so cheap. That can not be understated. Usually trading for a vet is a terrible value proposition as not only give up a first but take on a huge salary. The gain you get for the asset is minimal as you need to subtract from your own roster to accommodate them. That is not the case here, making it the rare case where such a trade can have actually value. You get Brown and don't need to shake up our Roster or long term cap plans to do it.

Why would they have egg on their faces?
Doubs our # 1 WR - Boutte one year left on books not happy FA - Barefoot 34 another FA nearing WR cliff - Pop Douglas Sucks - the hope is Kyle Williams making that jump not holding breath. Yeah we would have Major problems there.

Thats not embarrassment. That's ****ty roster management.

They can always bring back Diggs

If we give them Boutte, there's NO WAY in hell I give up a 1st.
In the next 2 years, Boutte is 80% of what AJ would be - if given the same starting opportunities. AJ is older and slower.
That's not worth a 1st. I'd give them Boutte & 2nd rounder in 27. Get it all off the books before he's gone.
A 1st in 28 is insane - there's a >50% chance AJ doesn't even play here in 28. And to still be paying the highest price for a 3 year old decision is a horrible decision.

That’s my concern, a team that has successfully laid low, comes in and meets the Eagles first asking price.

For sure i am in minority but i would not give a first round pick
What ever year it is...
