Re: Welker's family: We're absolutely sick

Sucks for Welker. He was really starting to become a star. Hopefully, the injury isn't career threatening.

:ditto:

That was the SECOND thought that ran through my mind. A season is one thing... sure it stings, just like Brady's injury did last year, but Welker is soooo important to this franchise in the long term. I don't want him out for the playoffs and potentially a large part of next season, but it isn't the worst thing that could happen.

Here's to a speedy recovery, Wes! Whatever the injury is.

At this point, I hope Wes comes back healthy next year. Anything after that is gravy.

Get well soon, Wes!

Cup half full!

This is going to galvanize the team as they move forward through the playoffs. Edelmann is the next Welker in training. Tonnes of practise this week between Edelmann and Brady on timing. Welker, as the MRI, will indicate will have a slight tear of the MCL and be back in time for the SuperBowl. How's that for optimism? No worrying on my part is going to change anything, therefore, I might as well look at this through rose coloured glasses.

He was crying because he knew that he couldn't help his team anymore. The pain threshold on these guys is outrageous. The tolerance buildup by the last year of college is insane, I could only imagine what it is like after several years in the league. The pain wasn't the cause of the tears, it was the feeling that he let his team down.

Keep ya head up, 83. Work hard in your recovery and prove your heart once again next season.

Re: Welker's family: We're absolutely sick

With all the hits he took this season, there was no reason why he should've been on the field today. Dumb decisions have been the theme of the 2009 Patriots.

You know absoluteley nothing about this team if you think there was any way Welker wouldn't play the first damn series of the game.

seems like nothing has gone right after the super bowl loss..I just hope Wes is good for next season..Brady had a full year to rehab & still doesnt look right so hopefully Wes' situation isnt as bad. Damn i feel bad for him & his family.

Want me bring you a tissue?

Re: Welker's family: We're absolutely sick

Welker is one of my favorite players if not my favorite. Get well Wes.

Wow, this board certainly has gone down hill.

I've never seen so many judgemental simple minded posts, reminds me of the Jet's forum.

Like ANY of you have ANY CLUE what it's like !

I used to come to this board to learn something about the game and the Patriots, now I might as well go to the Rants and Raves section of Craigslist, there's more depth there !

+1

Wes Welker is one of the toughest, most competetive athletes I have ever seen. He'll be back sooner than anyone will predict and better for it.

Re: Welker's family: We're absolutely sick

Terrible!! Terrible!! Of all the hits he gets, his knee fails on him. Hope he recovers well!

Meh, It is what it is.

Wes, we'll see you next year (which is what I think will be the case).

Until then................... This season isn't over. That's focus on who IS there, not who isn't.

Re: Welker's family: We're absolutely sick

and with all those hits he took his injury happened on a non contact play that could have happened in practice.

It could have happened in pre-game. That field sucked.

Re: Welker's family: We're absolutely sick

I don't remember those guys taking as many hits as Welker.

They rest Wilfork but not Welker?

Wilfork gets hit on many more plays per game than Welker, by stronger guys.

Maroney gets hit on more plays per game than Welker too.

Well said ...

Welkers career may be over. He's my favorite player but he is never going to be the same again. The reason he's so good is because he is the quickest guy on the field. Even with a recovery he isn't going to have the same quickness. It really is sad.

Thanks Dr. Sunshine!

I love all the doctors and sports medicine specialists here. I'll be sure to come here the next time I'm injured and need a diagnosis.
