A #2 for Welker is bad enough. This is downright embarassing.

Embarrassing?
- A sure handed guy who can give you 70 catches and return punts and kick offs.
- A good locker room guy to have (by all reports).
- In the NFL that is now swimming in available cap money.
- On a Patriot team desperate for good WR's.
- And hurts our Division Rival

Did we overpay for him? Possibly. Is this deal in the embarrassing category? Not! Dude, your dislike of this deal is seriously clouding your thought process. We needed a guy like this badly. Let me also suggest if and when Welker is out there as Brady's outlet, digging out first downs (and this seems more likely than not), you're going to have one big chunk of crow to swallow. Lastly, why is your "embrrassing" assessment of the Welker deal more accurate than the Patriot FO's assessment? It seems given their track record, you are going out on a limb as thin as dental floss. I think you might want to at least consider leaving a droplet of wiggle room for yourself on this.

No, both were UFAs.

Then we sit at losing three and signing three. If we signed four and lost three there is no compensation. For 3-3 I'm not sure but I think it depends on the value signed versus value lost.

Graham will cost a lot. Y'all will be amazed how much TBC signs for. Right now it is AD high and Morris, Brady low; versus two high signings and a low signing lost.

In all likely hood so we could still get a comp pick I believe.
