"Let me be clear about this. He hates his coach."Shaughnessy claims on csnne that BB hates WW. True? If so, kinda dumb.

Watch the first 5 minutes of this week's edition of Quick Slants on Comcast for one person's take on the Welker contract situation. Tom Curran lays it out pretty clearly and convincingly.
Jack Del Rio did go on the radio Friday morning and speak about Welker’s status after the receiver suffered a neck injury and concussion on Sunday. However, despite Twitter buzz that he’ll play for certain, Welker has not yet been cleared by doctors to play. Welker has practiced and is progressing, as Mike Klis noted in Friday’s Denver Post, but, per the Broncos, he cannot be ruled as playing until he receives that final doctor’s clearance.
That would be big if Julius Thomas is out. Has anything been said about his participation in practice today yet? I know 4 p.m. is when injury reports are released but just wondering if any media observed his movement today. He didn't practice Wednesday, and was supposedly "very limited" yesterday.Although it seems like a formality at this point, Welker has not been cleared to play on Sunday yet:
Broncos receiver Wes Welker still must be cleared by doctors in order to play Sunday after suffering concussion vs. Chiefs | First-and-Orange ? The Denver Post
I say it is a 1% or less chance he doesn't play.
On a side note, the one injury no one is talking about is Julius Thomas. He has been limited in practice (missed a practice or two) and more likely not to play than Welker.
I hear what you're saying but he has to be cleared by a doctor before he can play anyways. It's not just up to him.if welker plays, i better not see him complaining about the league and cte down the road. he's been concussed quite a few times and knows the consequences yet keeps going out there.

Jack Del Rio announced today Wes Welker has passed his concussion tests and is probable for Sunday.
This makes it even more harder. Dont think we have anyone who can cover him.
he is their leading WR in catches and in a bad weather a huge outlet for manning. Manning cant consistently throw to thomas or decker as much as he can with welker. Their o-line protected manning just fine vs a much better chiefs pass rush.He was going to play. It doesn't make it any more harder since it was a given he was going to play.
I am really not as concerned about Welker. I am more concerned about guys who can make long plays consistently. I would rather see him get 10 catches than either Thomas. I would happily take Welker on Sunday if Julius Thomas doesn't make the trip.
The Broncos offense has slowed down quite a bit from the beginning of the season. The Broncos are spending much more energy keeping Manning upright because of his ankle and porous o-line. It has affected the number of people they send out on a pass and shorten their vertical offense which has stalled their offense quite a bit over the last month.
Very true but I think Rob is saying Welker can get 10 catches and have like 100 yards without a TD. Whereas if either Thomas catches that many they're probably around 150+ yards and most assuredly scoring.he is their leading WR in catches and in a bad weather a huge outlet for manning. Manning cant consistently throw to thomas or decker as much as he can with welker. Their o-line protected manning just fine vs a much better chiefs pass rush.

And their o-line was barely a speed bump vs. the Chargers, Colts, and Redskins. One game against a different type of d-line that seemed to not want to pressure Manning as much as they should have does not say they have fixed their o-line problems. And they sacrificed a lot of offensive production to make sure the Chiefs didn't get to Manning.
Also, Welker has one more catch than Demariyus Thomas, but about 270 less yards. Both have the same amount of TDs except that Welker is the Broncos' goalline go to guy while Thomas is their homerun guy. I fear Thomas far more than Welker. Julius Thomas leads the team in TD receptions and Decker has six less catches than Welker. Welker is also on pace for his lowest YPC since 2010 (the year he came back from an ACL tear).
Let's not make it that Welker has been the go to guy on their offense like he was here. He is more of a role player on their offense and if Manning is throwing to him far more than the two Thomases and Decker, it means the Pats are slowing down their offense.
I fear Thomas and Welker equally, but in this game I think the primary threat will be Julius Thomas (should he play). If we go man to man across the board, which I hope we don't, I don't see anybody that can cover Thomas whereas I would like our chances with Talib on Demaryius and Arrington in the slot vs. Welker. Logan Ryan, while he has a long way to go, doesn't worry me on Decker. Decker is a solid receiver, but he doesn't do anything outstanding and McCourty should be patrolling that area of the field on more downfield routes, which is what Ryan struggles with.

The Pats will need to have one or two guys hit Julius Thomas off the line on every play which they did vs. Jimmy Graham which shut him down.
Julius Thomas scares me the most as well. At least if he is close to 100%. He may not be even if he plays.
