Welker could miss homecoming with concussion

Judging by last nights game thread, this place is going to be unbrearable this coming week so I'll get all my issues out of the way now and then will stay out of it until the Denver game is out of the way:

1. Peyton Manning is excellent.

2. John Elway has done a superb job as GM

3. There is no conspiracy to help the Broncos or Peyton Manning.

4. So what if he's getting excess press attention. He's done enough to deserve it.

OK. It's out of my system now.

If it is borderline I think he needs to rest..not just saying this tongue in cheek. We all know he takes pride in being able to get back up but the dude has been getting lite up for many years.

If he is good to go I want him in there for sure, but I can't help but wonder if the rest will do him good. They are 9-1 and judging by the way that team played last night they got their division...

I would love to see him in Kraft's box next Sunday, that would be kinda sorta funny....kinda.

I only watched about 20 minutes of the game, that was all I could stomach, the pass interference penalties called on the Chiefs made it unwatchable for me.

Even Cris Collinsworth said "part of the trick is getting a feel for the refs" which is a sanitized way of saying they're WAY overly aggressive in calling PI against the Chiefs.

If Danny Amendola lines up for the Patriots and Wes Welker misses for the Broncos I admit, I'll laugh at great length.

made of glass...

Personally I’m not sure how I feel about Welker possibly missing next week’s game. On one hand, it’s a great plus for us, on the other hand, if we end up winning, the mediots will claim that Welker would have been the difference maker, or if lose, the mediots will claim that Manning is the greatest ever, after winning in Foxboro without his number 1 weapon.

One thing I know: I’ll be there, and will be screaming off the top of my lungs. DONKEYS MUST GO DOWN!!!!

I hope Wes is ok and can play. The ironic thing is that when Amendola got his concussion, people killed him because Welker knows how to avoid the hit to the head. Fact is, concussions happen and they are unavoidable in most cases.

I don't want to see Welker miss this game and I hope he is ok.

I think you should do as the Patriots will. Ignore the media and look forward to the next game.

I really don't care if he plays or if he doesn't play. The Patriots aren't given excuses for their players missing games by other teams.

Best wishes to Welker and his health but that's as far as my well wishes extend.

I don’t really care if what the media says as long as we win and given the health of Talib, Dennard and Arrington is less than ideal currently if we had to deal with 1 less of Denver’s weapons I would be happy.

I'd love to see Welker out with a concussion and Amendola light it up...that would be just dessert for the jackhole media (Felger and Massarotti) around here

I'd miss seeing him out there as much as he'd miss seeing Wilfork, Kelly, Mayo and Gregory out there and I'm sure he'd want to compete against the best we got too.

I don’t think it had as much to do with Amendola having a concussion as it did with him suffering an injury in his second game back from the groin injury. That aside I was one of the ones hardest on Amendola but I am hopeful that I was overacting and his last game is going to be the building block of a great second half.

It would be funny although I think we should reframe from discussing Amendola and injuries until after tonight’s game. The last thing Danny needs and a hex.

I would find it ironic if Welker was out and Amendola played but I certainly wouldn't laugh about it. Their durability history (or lack thereof) isn't even close and that game does nothing to change it.

I don't know why people feel like they have to beat teams at their best. F that, I'd prefer to splay every team's 3rd string guys. At the end of the season, all it says is who won the Superbowl.

It does not say

2007 SB champs NYG*
*Luckiest play in history
*Refs did not call holding or in the grasp

2010 SB Champs NYG*
*Every fumble bounced right back to giants
* Wes Welker dropped game winning catch.

2012 SB champs Balt*
*Ray Lewis cheated with banned substance

The Chiefs were really roughing him up last night. I doubt Welker will miss the game but, if he does, well... that's too bad.

Too bad if he misses the game.

It's about time the Broncos get hit with some injuries.

Whilst I admit it feels a little sweeter, who the hell cares whether it's their first, second or third stringers? Totally agree with you.
