Week 9 rooting discussion

I want to point out if the Pats win the Conference then they win the Division. We play the Bills a second time at home, and if we win that game, we are 3 games up on Buffalo. I want to win the Conference so root for the Colts, Chiefs, Broncos, and Ravens to lose at every possibility. We want a Bye for Week 14 and 19.
Agreed.

Chiefs over Colts looks like the preferred choice right now.

In games like Bills vs Chiefs where I dislike both squads, I don’t really think too much about “who I would rather win” because the answer is neither.

Rather, I just take joy in the fact there’s a guarantee one will lose.

I get everyone rooting for a Colts loss because it makes us tied for first in AFC. But PIT has a tie breaker over us and we’re fighting for seeding with them too. Just like we’re one back of IND in the loss column, they’re only one back of us, and again they have the toe breaker.

I always think about what would benefit the Pats more (when we are actually in playoff contention).
First job is to win the division, guarantees a home playoff game.
Thus prefer a KC win.

Steelers will fade.
Ravens are winning that division.
Steelers are WC at best.
We win our division, we don't care about tiebreakers with Pitt.

Meteor notwithstanding, as long as we win the games we're supposed to win, there are benefits and drawbacks to either the ChRefs or Billdos winning.

And yes, it's nice to have this kind of discussion again.

The 2- 7 Dolphins have quit.

Their fans hate them and show up to heckle the lousy product on the field.

It's supposed to be QB rich draft, but Tua has that ridiculous contract.

Wow, this is a thing we have to do again.
Hear hear.

And they're also being picked in suicide pools again

It's great to be back.

In the picks pool I chose;
Bal - I wanted Mia but I couldn't get myself to hit the button.
Den - I started with Hou but then decided that I could win either way if Den loses.
LAC - I want Ten but who am I kidding.
NE - LET'S GOOOOO!
GB - I like @jmt57 's piss off Rodgers angle.
Ind - I see good things with either team losing.
Jac - I'd prefer LV to get further ahead of the Jags but LV is done.
KC - I like the meteor angle.

As crazy as it sounds... the Pats have a real chance at the first seed. Colts are a good team but the hard part of their schedule is coming up. KC, Jags 2x, Seattle, SF, Pitt, HOUx2. The Texans aren't that good but their defense can turn both game into a rock fight. They could end up 5-4 the rest of the way very easily. 6-3 is probably the best they do. That puts them 13-4.

KC's schedule is tough the rest of the way.. It was tough all year. But they could easily just about run the table now that they are healthy and have people back and keep getting the call. They could finish with 5 or even just 4 loses and it wouldn't surprise me. IF we tie them we will probably end up losing the tie breaker somehow. You just know it.

If KC manages to get by the Bills, i have a suspicion they will be able to tie us record wise (not that that be the worst thing in the world if we don't get the first seed TBH. I hope they don't get it again. But to be totally honest I don't want the Pats to have the first seed either.

Unless they make a huge splash before the deadline this shouldn't be their year. And if they get the first seed a fair amount of the easier to beat teams are out and that likely limits their run. What I'd REALLY like is the 2nd seed as of now.

With the 2nd seed it isn't impossible the Pats get 3 games in the playoffs this year and an AFCCG. That be a ton of playoff experience for the entire team and really prep them for next years run. Then again, if they end up with the 1st seed i won't exactly complain.

In any case I'd like KC to lose, cause i always root against them. I hate their fans, hate the DEMONSTRABLE, FACTUAL, red bias. And the Mahomes love annoys me a little. And i thought it was bad with Peyton or Rodgers... my goodness.

I'm with you. I hate the Chiefs even more than the Bills. At the end of the day, I'd much rather see the Bills in the Superbowl than those insufferable Mahomes, Mahauto, and Taylor Swift again.
Anyone else irked at the ridiculous free publicity their overpriced steakhouse is getting ?

Pretty sure the TB12 facilities and diets got plenty of free publicity.
