Not sure what kind of upgrade Herron is over VV

Downgrade as a player . upgrade as a healthier body
Id guess they decided Valentine will never be healthy enough..
Id guess they'll draft a DL high next year and bring some more from a deep class so VV would be a longshot for the future here anyway..

Unfortunately weekend waivers go through Monday..
Pats just can't bring him to PS (first time he chose Ravens PS over NE PS..)
A pity.

I didnt realize VV was still fighting an injury

Curious for news about Simon.

Nothing new . went out with shoulder injury and questionable designation. Don't remember him returning to the sidelines.

David Rivers popped up on this site tracking injuries with undisclosed inj.

___

btw - this is the Chiefs new inj situation in the aftermath of Jags game:

Chiefs coach Andy Reid told reporters right guard Laurent Duvernay-Tardif fractured his fibula in Kansas City's win against the Jaguars. "It's going to take a little bit of time but he's not done for the year," Reid said.

Chiefs linebacker Justin Houston suffered a hamstring injury in the first half against the Jaguarsand did not return. Safety Eric Murray was ruled out with a lower leg injury. Linebacker Tanoh Kpassagnon (ankle) and safety Armani Watts(groin) also exited early and did not return.

Needless to say Houston's hammy bears watching all week

I heard the ratbirds were about to promote him to their 53 when we signed him. So not surprised to see this.

Am surprised Volin knows who we play this week.. or what day it is.
I haven't read anything Volin has to offer for so long that I have forgotten just how dim he is. Is there a LESS connected and knowledgeable football reporter in the country.

So sad to see the Globe sports pages sink so low. To think that at one time you could read, McDonough on football, Ryan on Basketball, and Gammons for baseball and the B team was almost as good. In those days Shaunnessy was Ryan's gofer and doing a decent job covering basketball. Alas.

The loss of starting RG Tardif might be even more significant. His reported replacement is a rookie DT turned OL:

The Chiefs lost starting OG Laurent Duvernay-Tardif to injury today. According to our new Pass Block Win Rate metric powered by Next Gen Stats, he's been a solid above average pass blocker, with a PBWR of 82% through week 4. 77% is average for Gs. His PBWR was 79% for all of 2017. Rookie Kahlil McKenzie is his likely replacement.

Murray is a pretty good player for them too.

Pats are gonna win by a couple TDs anyway. I'll reserve my chicken littling for the Sox
