On paper the Saints seem like a team that should be better than 1-4. I think Olave/Shahed/Johnson is a healthy receiving corps, Kamara has lost a step but Kendre is showing some signs he could start in this league.

But they could also be 1-4 because they’re a dumb team with zero identity.

It doesn’t have the stink of a game that might let us all down, but if they are actually a team on the rise it should show this week

We really may need a trade at CB. Nothing major, just another body that keep Alex Austin from getting cooked when Gonzo does miss time.

It is both, the OL has not been very good at consistently opening holes and our RBs have not been good at breaking tackles. It needs to improve.

I saw a video of David Andrews discussing how the OL needs to work together in the run game and I am not sure they have gotten to that point. It seems like 5 guys doing a thing rather than a cohesive unit.

Not a "trap game" but more it is another TEST that a young new team with new leadership has to go through. There will be lots of these "tests" as this team hopefully goes from being an upstart, or surprise into being a consistent annual contender for a championship.

The Saints are a team that hopes they are trending in the right direction too. They are at home playing against a team coming off an emotional high upset on the road for the 2nd game in a row and might be down a key player or two, at the same time the Saints might get a key player or two back. Mike's job this week is to do his best to see that his team doesn't lose focus or intensity. Easier said than done even when you are aware of the issue.

It is a rite of passage winning teams have to go through, win or lose. It is a long season, and things don't move in a linear direction. More like 2 steps forward one step back. We are certainly capable of winning this game. In fact, we SHOULD win this game. But we are equally capable of losing it too.

The Edge Depth is going to be tested something fierce.. Especially by Kamara and Miller

My GUESS is that Truman Jones and Terrell Jennings will be the promotions.

I do find it weird that they haven't IRed Gibson yet.

When I looked at the Injury report, it lists him as "Out". Typically someone on IR doesn't get listed there.

With Gibson on the IR, we should, in theory see one of Jennings or Corbin promoted to the Pro-Roster. The OTHER will likely be elevated for the game.

Good question. Have to wonder if he's ahead or behind Truman Jones. I picked Jones because he's got experience. But, it could easily be Swinson.

I read a blurb the other day where a coach was giving him some luv, said he's coming along and I think there was some reference to his weight, alluding that he may have been overweight in camp, but isn't now.

And the QB situation is a mess. Spencer Rattler sucks.

One of the bigger questions for me is how they are going to handle the FS spot. Is Dugger going to play SS and Woodson move to FS or will Pettus be put in the starter role at FS. I am also super curious about kickoff return. Hendo will continue being one of the deep guys but who will take the spot that Gibson was in, could this be Chisms intro to the NFL?
