Game Day Thread Week 6: Patriots @ Saints Game Day Thread

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

Lastly, we have never allowed promoting the use of any illegal streaming. This is illegal and will be enforced by copyright holders, which puts this site at risk. DO NOT POST ANY LINKS to those platforms.

This also means, there absolutely cannot be any mention these platforms, spaces, special characters, etc. - so do not get creative in trying to work around this request.

If you do you will have your account suspended.

I do not have the means to deal with legal issues and have already been contacted previously, so this absolutely needs to be adhered to. If you see any illegal links, please report them so a mod can remove them.

That Harold Landry is one tough hombre.

Amazing, the Cult of Verticality should be so happy with this first half, and all I see is crying.

25 seconds 3 timeouts and you run one busted play?

Man this league became so soft. Quick throw down the middle and call timeout if it’s caught !

That was impossible for the officials to see. I don't blame them for that one even if it hurt if the call held. This time the review system worked.
Honestly yeah. From the sides it was guess work.

I felt like Maye was about as clearly over the line as you can ask for. I wonder if maybe the ref had to sneeze and just had his eyes closed

Isn't this why they put chips in the damn ball anyway?

He's clearly over. I don't know how they couldn't see it even from the sidelines personally.

Great 2 minute drive by Maye. He even scored the 2 point conversion. He’s simply brilliant today. That’s how we need our young qb to respond to adversity.

Drake Maye First Half Totals:
Total: 11/13 (84.6%) 185yds 3 TDs 0 INTs Rtg: 158.3

By Down:
1st: 7/8 (87.5%) 145yds 3 TDs
2nd: 2/3 (66.7%) 17yds
3rd: *2/2 (100%) 23yds
*2 Passing First Downs

By QTR:
1st: 5/5 (100%) 103yds 2 TDs
2nd: 6/8 (75%) 82yds 1 TD

Pats get ball back to start the half. May need a TD there for breathing room as it doesn’t seem likely the defense gets many stops today.

Were there any punts?

Our defense needs to do its part in the second half. Offense needs to just keep doing what it is doing. No need to get Diggs involved etc. 20 points in a half is more than you can ask for and it could have been more if not for that questionable drive that had the idiotic rb draw followed by a botched snap.

Vrabel went for 2 to make it a 6 point game, which is two FGs, or a TD with a missed XP. Better than being up 5.
Exactly, it’s a free attempt. Being up by 4 or 5 makes no real difference.

Up by 6 opens new scenarios.

Damn, Reiss is not having it today.

Patriots 22, Saints 16 (half): Drake Maye deals, Pop Douglas explodes on scene, Kayshon Boutte with 2 TDs in his homecoming ... while the defense has been playing the bend-don't-break approach.Patriots get ball to start the 2H ... unless the officials decide to change it late.

Haven't seen much of Rattler b4.
Very good 1st half. I like his decision- making and accuracy.
But he ain't no Drake Maye

Yeeeeeaahhh….soo Maye’s NOT the guy….
