It's a dammed good thing I'm not a moderator. I'd deleted every freakin' post about it so it doesn't drive people away, which I can promise you I know for a fact it is, I 've spoke to guys who are sick of the BS. You're going to be awfully lonely here, trying to win an argument by yourself with people who probably just do it to push your buttons. @maust is correct, otherwise you have good insight on the team, but you have lost your way.
No probably about it. They are trolls and haters that's what they do. I don't see why I'm required to just have to read it and take it?

I hold Belichick in very high regard and there should be zero reason for that opinion to have to be silenced on a Patriots message board.

Stop trying to silence me. I'll quote and respond to whoever and however I like thank you very much.

Oh Boo Boo, no one is treading on you or trying to silence you personally sweetie. i just politely asked you to leave me out of it.
That you can't see that tells us all anyone needs to know.

You have yourself a real nice day.

I hold Belichick as the GOAT, but I don't feel the need to defend him at every turn. That run is over. Tom is gone, Bill is gone. Mike and Drake are here. I've turned the page. I could give two chits on how some troll feels about it. The fact that you respond to them all the time is mind blowing to me. They won't change, and you give them the attention they crave by taking the bait.

I am not talking about you need a high draft pick to get a franchise QB. But here we have the receipts of what the QBs drafted have turned into. Name the QB in the last five years that the Pats could have drafted where they were drafting or lower because they had a better record that you would want to be the Patriots' franchise QB. Bock Purdy?

At this point, the only QBs who look to be potential franchise QB who were drafted over the last five years is Maye and a few others where the Pats would have had to be worse than they were to draft.

I think we're agreeing that draft position isn't a great way to predict future production, and that Mac was the most talented QB available to the Patriots via draft since he was chosen in the 2021 draft, outside of course of selecting Maye in 2024. We will never know what would have happened if Bill didn't mess up his development after Josh left.

If we want to go with hindsight, if Bill was truly unhappy with the Jones/Zappe QB room going into the BoB season of 2023, that was the off-season that TB signed Mayfield for one year, $4M. Instead the GOAT coach went with the back-and-forth between Jones and Zappe instead.

Who knows, maybe he was doing a tank job, but whatever it was, it did his legacy no good.

Remember football talk?

I had a different idea for how post dynasty would go. I kind of figured we would celebrate it for the rest of our lives. Why would anyone want to turn the page.

I would have expected to see ten plus die hard fans for every hater or troll defending the wall for all time. I certainly did not expect the haters to come from our own ranks. I would have thought an occasional Jet fan to come in and take pot shots or a Chief fan to try and prematurely take our thrown. The last thing I expected was so called Patriots fans crapping all over everything. And then yell at me for not bending over and taking it.

A real life Jones/Zappe QB controversy started by the coach waffling on who his guy was.

Embarrassing

I'm super happy for Mac, and proud of him. I always loved the kid and now being in my 31st year of Patriots fandom I can say that save Super Bowl XLII the way the organization and the fans treated him was the low point of my fandom, and the only time I've been ashamed to call myself a Patriots fan.

The dynasty started when Tom Brady became the starting quarterback, and it ended when Brady left after Bill kept giving him low-ball contracts and interfering with how Tom wanted to train. Tom's response was to win another Super Bowl. Bill's response was to have a one-and-done playoff game where Bill's vaunted defense got steamrolled. There's very little GOATness to celebrate in Bill's post-Brady era. Pointing this out is not ****ting on the Dynasty, because the Dynasty ended when Brady left.

The "haters" are a figment of the cult's imagination.

Absolutely nobody is happy that Bill has burned his own legacy to the ground over the past year on and off the field.

The whole 'Mac is a wimp' thing is such false machismo IMO.

Mac was routinely getting lit up when he played here.

There's no way any of the patsfans.com members would stand up any better than Mac did.

They'd be showing even more signs of pain the first time they got hit, IMO.

The eyes closed/meditation breathing exercise is my favorite Mac sideline display....besides going full Spalding Smales and getting bench rub downs Japanese Wagyu cows would be jealous of. We got it all last night.
Full Corker

Stupid us getting rid of Bourne: I can't believe in a parallel universe McDaniels and Vrabel thought Barefoot Hollins is better Receiver; our loss Ugh!!

I don't think anyone could make a realistic argument Mac got anything but the ****ty end of the stick from the organization and a huge part of the fan base here. As a Pats fan from the team's inception I can attest that was among the dark chapters in a not always glorious but constantly 'interesting' history. Also as a Pats fan who loves the laundry I can say I'm good with turning the page and I'm once again excited for what comes next

Funny I thought it started when Mac got hurt and then got scared that Zappe would take his job and rushed back before he was ready. Neither established themselves as better than the other after that and if anything they both regressed. Credit to Mac for putting his head down and getting past it. It will be interesting to see what he does now that he's seemingly earned another crack at it.

How will he respond to a potential fight with Purdy for reps? And can he parlay this success into more on another team or by pushing Purdy? I think he probably can, he's been through a lot in his short career and while he may not have always responded the best he seems to have learned some things along the way and hopefully that makes him more prepared for his next opportunities and to continue to help SF.

That’s the New England way… people *****ed about Bill while they were winning. Same with Tito during his run with the Sox. They probably *****ed about Red when the C’s won all those back to back championships. People ***** about the coach or the manager all the time. It is what it is.

We've seen Brady get beat up a whole lot worse and did not see any of the histrionics the 49ers displayed with Mac on the sideline last night. To top it all off, the way Herbstreit was commentating about him, you would think Mac was playing with one leg and one arm.

I have to vent about this: a Team like us who have been poor in this area can't afford such oversight.

What did he do here?
