Yup - still freezes under pressure. Not surprising as he is clearly bad at handling pain.
Looks like he is getting lots of practice at handling pain tonight.

Wtf mcvay LOL

How about Bourne?

10 catches on 11 targets, for 142 yards.

Not too shabby.

When teams don't value the run game catches up to them. Too many players look they are WR's moonlighting at RB. Kyren Williams had no shot on that short yardage play.

Agreed

QB controversy now lol
265 million reasons why that’s a no. lol

This was the best of Mac tonight. With great protection and a great playcaller, he can really cook. When he loses those is when he comes apart.

Pure nonsense. He drove the team from his own goal line to a pivotal field goal. He was knocked around quite a bit and got up each time. Meanwhile, he also was cramping to where they had to work on him between possessions. Two scoring passes, 340 yards, no picks winning on the road vs. a division rival. Overall a pretty gutsy game by Mac.

If you remember that pass he had late in the 4th, before they hit the long FG, he basically threw it right to a defender on 3rd down that likely would have lost them the game.

Still saw those reckless tendencies out of him, though they were limited tonight.

Like any QB
There's truly only probably 3-4 QBs in the league that can handle bad situations

Now you want to damn him for a dropped interception? You might give the Rams defense kudos for defending that play after Mac had them on their heels all night in their own building. It was BECAUSE of Jones that San Fran won that game. Just give credit where it's due and wish the guy well. Shanahan always wanted him and maybe we're beginning to see why.

An interesting stat.

Record for 49ers QBs in regular season under Kyle Shanahan when throwing 39+ passes:
Mac Jones 3-0
Jimmy Garoppolo 3-4
Nick Mullens 0-4
Brian Hoyer 0-2
C.J. Beathard 0-2
Brock Purdy 0-1
Josh Dobbs 0-1
(Purdy won 2023 divisional round vs Packers throwing 39 passes)

Mac can be a good to very good QB with talent around him, protection and good play calling like tonight.
Still think he has a weak arm and is not very mobile and makes risky passes too often. He does not have a good deep ball.

I think Drake Maye is (will be better). He is bigger, stronger, much better arm and more mobile. I also think he is a better leader.
