Little comfort after yesterday's debacle.

Sh!t, I forgot to make any bets. Am I out now?

Definitely not out. You are welcome to bet tonight's game. But if you don't like tonight's game, you are fine rolling your current bankroll over to next week.

I know this is just for fun but is there a purpose by end of season, a winner? One with largest bankroll?

Right. We should have rules then. There should be a min. amount bet per wk (5-10% of your bankroll?) and limit # times you can sit out. Otherwise you can just sit out once you have a large enough lead to avoid risk. Or not. Whatever.

Great point let's hope Dingleberry makes the adjustments

While we're at it, there should be weekly winners and they should get cool looking banners like the pick'em game. I propose that in honor of our OP, the banners be brown with yellow or red lettering.

This really began as an idea to bring a fun game to the board. I thought it might be a good little contest to add a little more entertainment to the season. This is kind of turning into a test run of sorts to see what works. I didn't even know if there would be much interest to begin with.

We would need the stamp of approval from @Ian for any banners. It will have to be simple bragging rights. A brown banner would be awesome!

I agree about the concern of someone just sitting on their bankroll all season. I also think the top finisher(s) from this year should maybe have their bankroll increased or even rolled over into next season?

Anyway, the following rule changes are going to be set in the Week 4 thread based on all your suggestions.

1. Everyone must bet at least 10% of their bankroll each week. However, we will allow 2 weeks of no bets for each player (gotta allow for real life absences and such).

2. Next week, Over/Under bets will be added to the options.

3. Week 4 will be the final week allowing new players. And they will be allowed $40,000 to start and no more absent weeks.

4. I am going to allow any players who went Bust back in the game with $10,000. To keep it fair, everyone still in the game will also get a $10,000 boost to their bankroll.

Thanks for playing and being the guinea pigs this season. We have had 26 players this season, including those who went bankrupt. Hopefully, this becomes a yearly game like Alamo's with even more people involved.

I’m good. This is a little over my head (I’m not into betting enough to understand it all that well, but I’m cool with it and I can definitely create a banner for it.

I am not sure if anyone in this thread follows the OT: Gambling thread started by @fnordcircle a few years ago, but I have a betting system/picker I post in there weekly. This is its pre-season week as its based on the last four games played by each team. Obviously they have only played three. I like to throw it out week 4, well, mostly cause I'm a junky. But if you are not against it, maybe it can play too. I would have it bet even money each week on every game. Maybe there is a contest in there as well. Beat the picker or something like that and get a bankroll bonus. If you do.

Or is this becoming a second occupation for you and that is too much?

I am not against that at all. Let's do it.

I practically live outside in the spring and summer, but once this time of year comes around I begin to hibernate like a bear. My descendants came over on the Mayflower, I was born in Boston, and I have lived in NH my entire adulthood. I am as New Englander as it gets. As soon as my youngest is done with school, I am outta here. No more winters for me!

But until then, this gives me an indoor winter hobby. And really, it is not too time consuming.

That is really cool. Thank you!

Meant to come and add the Boys tonight. So that sucks. But hit em on draft kings -3.5 for the W. Had a good week, 5-1 (draft kings) only loss was the **** ass beat in the Raiders game.
