I saw the Hughes tragedy play out live on TV. They worked on him where he collapsed for a long time and my dad, a coach, was watching with me. He said, "This does not look good." Hughes was put on a wheeled gurney and rushed off. Why they didn't drive an ambulance onto the field I have no idea, maybe there wasn't one on standby at the stadium. But I can remember clear as day the scary sight of paramedics pushing/pulling that gurney as fast as they could.

The biggest concern right now is neurological function even if he now has a pulse. Unfortunately, if he was down for 20 minutes without a pulse, he mostly likely has a massive brain ischemic injury from lack of oxygen going to his brain during the time he was pulseless.

That’s my understanding too…so sad

I've mentioned that problem to Ian in the past, but he's got a lot on his plate when it comes to this place. I know that it can be dealt with by other systems (vBulletin has the thread show up with the Original post just being blank, for example), but I don't know about Xenforo.

I will look into this. I’ll dig through the code and see if I can make a modification to potentially deal with it.

I think they should at least postpone until tomorrow. We've seen the NFL schedule Tuesday night games before. If it 's serious, then they should cancel.

Thing is, that tackle looked pretty benign. It makes me wonder if Hamlin might have a preexisting condition that was waiting to be triggered. Just speculating.

from what I recall when I got my EMT an ambulance will also drive slowly to minimize potential movement of fractured vertebrae. They would also drive carefully leaving the field to avoid any risk of hitting someone or something in a congested area.
