I thought the Tua moment earlier this year was the most disturbing thing I'd seen on an NFL broadcast, but this is truly harrowing. It's just so scary that it's been almost half an hour and we haven't been able to hear even a bit of good news.

I didn’t see the play, but the first thing you think of when a young athlete collapses is HOCM- hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy.

A lot of sudden deaths happening frequently in younger people these days especially athletes….google it. I think these pro athletes get scanned/evaluated pretty throughly…..congenital heart problems generally come up in testing and assessment

Yeah. There’s a good chance they’d find it. This is happening at a higher clip than I can ever remember. I don’t want to take the thread into a different realm, but let’s just say that we may not know for another 50+ years when certain data gets made available. I’ll leave it at that.

That is a bad sign. i remember when dale ernhart crashed 20 plus years ago it left slowly it was because he was dead and the ambulence didn't need to speed to the hospital

Ive heard of that happening with kids playing baseball. kid gets hit in the chest with a baseball and goes into arythmia and dies

There's a lot of young kids on these teams, on both sides. There's no way they've been through something like this. Now maybe, if news comes back that Hamlin has been stabilized and doing OK they could continue, but playing w/o knowing, no f*cking way.
