I am a Josh Allen fan as well. He seems like a genuinely good dude.
He was a total douche after the they beat us a few seasons ago. The return match after the "wind" game. He went way down in my estimation after that. He is the best hope of stopping the threepeat though so he has my full support, if only temporarily.

It’s sadly just due to the AVP offense which doesn’t really use the slot receiver much.

I’m sort of interested in the idea of bringing back McDaniels (under Vrabel) who obviously knows how to feature the slot receiver and got everything he could out of Welker and Edelman. Bourne also had a fairly solid season under him in ‘21 with only Jakobi Meyers across from him. Replace Meyers with Higgins and put Pop in the slot, and Maye throwing instead of Mac, and it would likely be decent. Bourne, Pop, Henry, Boutte, Stevenson all know the offense already so it would only need to be taught to a few guys. Also makes life easier on the OL. Probably hardest on Maye.
I don't like the idea of bringing McDaniels back, not saying Maye couldnt learn that offense, but it negates his strengths out of the pocket, out of structure etc. That system is ideal for QB's with more brains than athletic ability, I just dont think it plays to Maye's strengths

I definitely understand the concern, although I also wonder how much of that is simply due to McDaniels having mostly worked with statue QBs. When he had Cam Newton under center he actually did a solid job incorporating QB designed runs etc. Curious if he could adapt the offense to use more rollout/boot action.

I'm 47, yeah, I remember the mid 80's.
I'm the same age as yourself I remember the 80s too! That squish the fish AFCCG against Miami! I'd like to forget the 85 superbowl though... you guys will get a trophy before we get a 7th... we have had an lifetime of winning endless memories.. we have been in a rebuild past 5 seasons... I feel great about Drake.. everything else around Drake needs to be upgraded. What is so frustrating is looking at you guys defense with Milano and bunch of guys.. they play well. Our defense has worsened. You also have a great OC in brady.

Yes, that's a valid point, but that was out of necessity, i just think Maye's skill set is better suited to a hybrid west coast system than a timing / option route system. then again attacking seams is one of his better traits so that isnt really west coast either. Just generally he plays better on the move and out of structure which is the antithesis of EP system really

and this is generally how you ruin young QB's, constant system changes, which require turning over players around him (not that we have any anyway) to fit the new scheme. This was part of the half pregnant problem with the 2022 offense trying to run zone blocking with power gap players. Draft one player in Strange to block zone and have 4 other power gap players around him, it takes 2-3years to change over systems personnel wise. I guess given how bad the roster is it isnt that big a deal, but better to upgrade OC / play caller within a semblance of the same scheme then do 180 degree turns on the scheme

AVP couldn't hold a candle to Josh in Playcalling.

I agree with many others. I want them to lose, in part because that would likely elevate the draft position, but even more because I'm for anything that might move the Krafts in the direction of shutting down Mayo's **** show by sweeping out the whole dismal bunch.

I'm in the playoffs for my FF league and the team I'm facing has Josh as his QB. I'm resigned to the fact that he will most likely throw for over 300 yards, throw for at least 2 TDs and run for another few TDs. He's most likely gonna score 50+ pts.

It needs to be more Mayo. "Take out a few bad plays and we weren't so bad."
Thank you for asking - I'm tinkering with Grok lately because it's more flexible with lookalikes, and you reminded me to see if it gave me Mayo access - YES!!!! Just a bit of spelling correction in Photoshop and we're golden!
