I never thought it would be a realistic possibility for the Pats to be going into tonight's game with their own destiny back in their hands, but the way this is going they very well might.

Granted with Dalton likely done for the season, the first round bye is almost a lock. It is the #1 seed in more question.

The thing is they have done the same thing on every 3rd and long in this game. It's not like they are even catching the Broncos off guard and might get the yards on the ground after the catch.

Per Holtzman, the "best-case scenario" has Dalton returning for the playoffs, but the "feeling in the locker room" is that he's done.

They would probably be better off in a nationally televised playoff game with McCaron then they would Dalton anyway. McCaron played in packed houses every Saturday at Alabama.
