Are you sure the players don't care?

That D gave up 10 points, all off turnovers and short fields.

Offensive line allowed them to run the ball well.

Our QBs are the worst in the league by far. Not sure what you can do when the most important position in sports is such a waste. It is really hard to tell what is going on in the trenches other than the fact we can't seem to generate enough pass rush. JC Jackson is not long for this team. Those are 2 things I know.

But no one can tell me if the WRs on this team are horrendous or just saddled with the worst QBs imaginable.
The WR's on this team suck. Don't look for excuses for them. Take away the QB's and they routinely are awful when it comes to getting separation and drop tons of balls they should catch.

Anybody who thinks this is a good WR corp is on crack. We haven't had a decent WR set since before Brady left. It's been a weakness everyone in the league has been aware of for awhile.

100% they do. Fields hasn’t been much better than Mac.

Problem…this team isn’t a QB away.

I’d trade down if you can get a haul and fortify the line.
I'd probably take 3 WRs too.

This team stinks and needs blown up but lets be honest it's a great loss, why would you want this team stuck picking 7/8 with a few wins?

Whether or not you like Zappe. And no he's not a great QB by any means, maybe not even a good one...
l
There’s no maybe. He stinks like the rest of this team.

1. Bill should not be making the decision.

2. If we have a top 3 pick, if we don't get either Williams, Maye or Harrison, all of New England should gear up for a public execution
Are you open to the possibility that the top two OT will have better careers than either of the two QBs ? I’d almost put money on Fashano / Alt having a better career that either Williams or Maye.

History shows that it’s actually improbable both Maye and Williams will both be successful NFL QBs.

I’d love to see Harrison here. I’d rather two years of a cousins type while NE stockpiles talent and then get a QB in the draft.

Same game 21yd completion to TT11... Ted Johnson had a good breakdown of a number of his good plays that game including that one where coverage was initially good and he had to buy time...There was even a rollout broken sack tackle throw to Henry for a TD that called back that. Zap was really good that game.

A couple of plays here and there doesn't mean he can read defenses. Most of his plays last year were quick single read plays.

Look at today. He could make most of the quick read passes. He was either intercepted or almost intercepted on most of plays that he was forced to try to read the defense and go through his check downs.

I don't know if either give a better chance. That last drive started on the 50 yard line and Zappe almost threw an interception.

And Mac not my boy. I said the guy should be benched.

Zappe didn't play great but I can't blame the Chad Ryland kick on him. That would have sent us to OT.

He put us into a position to at least compete in the game.

Now are any of the QBs on this roster NFL starting quality? Don't think so. But Zappe outplayed Jones and the offense looked far more purposeful and efficient under his leadership, particularly that first 8 minute drive coming out of half time.

Sure. But they won't make a bigger difference that getting the right QB. And if you have a chance at a stud QB, you take it.

The loss was on the HC.

Guys…stop with the “Bill will just mess up the draft” stuff.

He isn’t going to be here.

If he is, it means Kraft himself doesn’t care about winning anymore and I don’t buy that .

The bigger question is does he really believe anyone will give up a pick for BB?

If not, you fire him now.

If so, keep him until the season ends then get the 5th rounder or whatever.

I am not opposed to seeing if Mayo has any juice before hiring season begins.

The pats have likely secured a franchise qb prospect or the best wr prospect in a decade. williams & maye are arguably the best 1-2 at the top of the draft since luck rgiii. That’s huge
You mean like Lawrence was a can't miss pick?

I am not saying he won't turn it around, but going into this game he had the second worst FG percentage in the league. He probably has the worst. The season isn't over yet and Ryland has already missed one more field goal than Gostkowski did his rookie season.
Rookie kickers are notoriously inconsistent. Sebastian Janikowski was 22 for 32 on field goals his rookie year. This is actually a good year to get a rookie kicker acclimated to the NFL.

Oh he's certainly looked bad in his 4 relief appearances this year for sure. I just want the guy to get full reps and a start with plays catered to his preference (as explained by Cassel on the difference between going in as a starter and relief pitcher) to know for sure because he looked really good in his last start, and it wasn't just a couple of plays here and there. Not sure if you actually remember that Browns game...

Mac is a modern day Tony Eason. Eason was a promising young QB until he started to get killed by bad o-line play and then he started to see ghosts and became a train
Eason was extremely talented with 2 very good seasons
He brought us to our first Super Bowl ever

Mac ? He is simply terrible...

Gostkowski missed four <40-yard FGs his rookie season.

My guess is Ryland will get another shot next year, but there'll be competition.
This year’s team had major holes to film; however, in 2006 the team was in much better shape talent wise. So there’s that.

Moving up with the Jets to get this kicker was a mistake.
