I just realized that we pick just before the jets do. Not that BB would take someone they wanted but ...can you image if we did?

I don't like that position, because Mangini will probably adopt all the same philosophies and he not only drafts right after us, but three spots before us. This means we could get caught up in second guessing the Jets' needs when making our first selection (ie which player will make it past the Jets and be available at #28). I think it would be in both teams interests to trade picks - trade up from 28 to 25? But it's probably not bothering Belioli as much as it bothers me.

I believe the Jets biggest needs are Cornerback,Running Back,Nose Tackle and even if they address the needs in free agency I can still see the Jets drafting a Cornerback so since that is one of our top needs it will be interesting on draft day.

I would be quite surprised to find BB was more concerned with drafting someone Mangini might want than drafting someone who upgrades the Pats.

I just found it interesting.
BB I'm sure will pick the player who helps us the most and not who any other team wants.

Not going to happen:

24. Patriots (from SEA)
25. JEST
26. Eagles
27. Saints
28. Patriots
29. Ravens
30. Chargers
31/32. Dolts/Bears

33. Oakland
34. Lions
35. Browns
36. Buccaneers
37. Cardinals
38. JEST (from WAS)

Agree, but that doesn't mean we won't see some kind of manipulative DRob-type smokescreen. Problem is, Mangini is probably wise.

The thing to watch here is the Pats letting another team leapfrog the Jets to pick a running back.

Both the Eagles (#26) and the Ravens (#29) need a running back, and we could swap 1st rd picks with them so they could leapfrog the Jets and pick Marshawn Lynch from Cal.

I not sure about the trade value of this trade but it would certainly get the Pats most likely and extra 3rd rd pick.

I checked the trade chart and it looks more likely it would be for an extra 4th rd pick.
